A combined karaoke/photo booth/jukebox may enable more integrated performance-like experiences in an in-home or out-of-home location or venue. By leveraging vast audio media libraries, trusted rights-respecting network infrastructure, and on-site image/video capturing from integrated recorders and/or remote portable devices, a more sociable experience may be created for karaoke jukebox patrons, e.g., where custom content can be generated and shared in a safe and legally appropriate manner.

Exemplary embodiments relate to applications for facial detection technology and facial overlays to provide a karaoke experience. For example, an identifier associated with a celebrity or singer may be mapped to an image or facial overlay, and to a set of predefined music tracks configured for karaoke. In some embodiments, the music tracks may include metadata with lyrics or other karaoke information. The music tracks may also be mapped to media elements, which may be interactive. The karaoke experience may be gamified, such as by performing a sound analysis to determine how close a user's performance is to the lyrics or pitch of the original singer. The song may be performed in a live video, and a leaderboard may be used to track performance across multiple users. The leaderboard score for each user may be partially based on engagement of a user base with the live broadcast.

The invention provides a set top box with karaoke functions. The invention consists of a video and audio real-time casting function processor, an audio/video decoding processor with high definition multimedia interface technology and an audio remix processor. Therefore, the multimedia image can be projected onto a large screen and the output audio and the microphone sound can be mixed together and then output to the audio equipment, so as to achieve a better karaoke singing result.

A karaoke device includes a processor, a microphone, a wireless transceiver, an AM/FM transmitter, and a memory. An acoustic system comprises an output unit, a communication unit, a first output control unit, and a second output control unit. The output unit is configured to be capable of outputting a sound and an image. The communication unit is configured to be capable of communicating with an external device. The first output control unit is configured to receive, from a communication device that transmits a reproduction signal for acoustic data, the reproduction signal via the communication unit and to cause the output unit to output a sound based on the reproduction signal, to thereby perform reproduction of a series of sounds represented by the acoustic data.
