The present invention provides a lightweight glove for baseball or softball that may include an elastic backfinger to provide a conforming fit to the wearer's hand. In general, the elastic backfinger may replace existing, often leather backfingers, the back panel, the liner, and/or other elements of traditional gloves glove with the elastic material, combination of elastic materials, or combination of elastic and inelastic materials.

Patterned medical glove for use when taking a pulse
10750802 · 2020-08-25 · ·

An ambidextrous or hand-specific glove including a wrist region, a palm region, and a digit region. The glove may be fabricated of nitrile rubber that is free of or essentially free of zinc, sulfur and accelerators to reduce allergic reactions in populations required to frequently wear protective gloves. A band region that partially or fully encircles a user's finger knuckles may be provided for easier finger bending. Texturing may be provided on glove surfaces that are used to grip articles. The tip regions on the front surface of the index and middle finger regions may be un-textured or smooth to enable a user to take a patient's pulse. These tip regions may be of reduced diameter and circumference so as to pull the glove material tightly around the tips of the user's finger so that even a faint pulse in a patient may be detected.

Adhesive fabrication process for garments and other fabric products
10750805 · 2020-08-25 · ·

A process for fabricating a three-dimensional, multi-layered fabric product with a moisture barrier is provided. A partially seamed inner lining fabric assembly having at least a two-dimensional shape is laminated with a membrane barrier film having flaps left un-laminated to cover at least one seam. The inner lining fabric assembly is further seamed and flaps of the of the membrane barrier film overlapped into contact with each other and sealed to provide a continuous moisture barrier. A process for fabricating a stretchable section of a garment with a moisture barrier is also provided. At least a section of a garment is formed from fibers arranged in a pattern having a direction of stretch in one direction and a three-dimensional surface texture such that a portion of the fibers protrude above another portion of the fibers. The stretchable section is stretched in the direction of stretch. Segments of a membrane barrier film are adhered to an outer edge of the protruding portion of the fibers while the section is stretched in the direction of stretch, leaving intermediate segments of the barrier film free from adherence to the section. In this way, the intermediate segments of the membrane barrier film include slack that folds up to form ruches when the section is in a relaxed state.

Polyurethane Coated Fabric Products

A polyurethane-coated fabric product, particularly a polyurethane-coated glove, has a fabric liner and, on the surface of the liner, a microporous foam layer comprising polyurethane and a bifunctional sulphur-containing alkoxysilane. The microporous foam layer exhibits increased abrasion resistance, durability and increased resistance to water penetration. Preferably, the bifunctional sulphur-containing alkoxysilane is bis(triethoxysilylpropyl)tetrasulphane. The polyurethane-coated fabric product is manufactured by a method that includes providing a fabric liner, applying a io coating to at least part of the surface of the liner, wherein the coating comprises a solution, in a polar aprotic solvent, of a polyurethane resin and a bifunctional sulphur-containing alkoxysilane, treating the coated fabric with water, thereby causing the polyurethane to coagulate and form a microporous foam layer on the fabric liner, and drying the polyurethane-coated fabric is product.

LAMINATED GLOVE, DEVICE AND METHOD OF MAKING SAME
20200253306 · 2020-08-13 ·

A layered, laminated glove includes an outer layer, a membrane formed from a liquid-resistant, air permeable material positioned on an inner surface of the outer layer and a liner formed from a moisture absorbing material. The liner is positioned on an inner surface of the membrane. The outer layer, membrane and liner are laminated to form a single glove. The glove includes a plurality of fingertip portions in which the outer layer, membrane and liner are substantially fully laminated throughout. The glove may include a 3D pattern formed in one or more layers of the laminate. The glove may include an enlarged knuckle section. A hand mold and system for making the gloves and a method are also disclosed.

Hand and thumb protection and support for an athletic glove

An athletic glove having an inner glove with one or more protective members is discussed. Protective members may include metacarpal support members attached to the dorsal side of the inner glove configured to protect at least a portion of a metacarpal bone of the human hand; volar and dorsal metacarpal support member attached to the volar and dorsal sides of the inner glove, respectively, and configured to protect at least a portion of a carpometacarpal joint, a metacarpal bone, a metacarpal joint, and a proximal phalanx of a thumb of the human hand; and volar and dorsal distal phalange support members attached to the volar and dorsal sides, respectively, of the inner glove and configured to protect at least a portion of a distal phalanx of the thumb of the human hand. Optionally, the inner glove may include a protective strap.
