System and method for grouping audio events in an electronic percussion device
An electronic percussion device has a plurality of triggerable actuators, in the form of any of pads, external trigger inputs or foot switches, that may be organized into synchronized groups, and has an operational mode in which triggering of any actuator within the synchronized group initiates playback of audio events or execution of control functions associated with other of the actuators within the synchronized group in one of multiple different synchronization orders, e.g. one at a time, all simultaneously, random or in a predefined or user-defined consecutive order.
Musical score processing method and musical score processing system
A musical score processing method that is realized by a computer includes receiving a control data related to displaying of a musical piece from a music processor that executes a process related to the musical piece and that is realized by a music processing program, using inter-application communication, based on a musical score processing program, and executing a display control process by displaying a musical score of the musical piece on a display device and controlling the displaying in accordance with the control data that has been received, based on the musical score processing program. The music processing program is separate from the musical score processing program.
TRANSITIONS BETWEEN MEDIA CONTENT ITEMS
A system of playing media content items determines transitions between pairs of media content items by determining desirable locations in which transitions across the pairs of media content items occur. The system uses a plurality of track features of media content items and determines such track features of each media content item associated with each of transition point candidates, such as beat positions, of that media content item. The system determines similarity in the plurality of track features between the transition point candidates of a first media content item and the transition point candidates for a second media content item being played subsequent to the first media content item. The transition points or portions of the first and second media content items are selected from the transition point candidates for the first and second media content items based on the similarity results.
Device configurations and methods for generating drum patterns
The present disclosure relates to methods and devices for generating drum patterns. In one embodiment a method includes receiving a user generated input including a plurality of events during a time interval, and detecting the events. The method also includes analyzing the events to define a rhythmic pattern based on number of events detected, placement of each event in the time interval, and duration of the time interval. Each of the plurality of events may be classified into at least one type of drum pattern element and a drum pattern may be generated based on the rhythmic pattern to include a drum element for each event of the rhythmic pattern. In certain embodiments, pitch or tone of the events may be determined to classify events as components of a drum pattern. Processes and devices allow for professional sounding drum patterns to be output based on received input.
Device configurations and methods for generating drum patterns
The present disclosure relates to methods and devices for generating drum patterns. In one embodiment a method includes receiving a user generated input including a plurality of events during a time interval, and detecting the events. The method also includes analyzing the events to define a rhythmic pattern based on number of events detected, placement of each event in the time interval, and duration of the time interval. Each of the plurality of events may be classified into at least one type of drum pattern element and a drum pattern may be generated based on the rhythmic pattern to include a drum element for each event of the rhythmic pattern. In certain embodiments, pitch or tone of the events may be determined to classify events as components of a drum pattern. Processes and devices allow for professional sounding drum patterns to be output based on received input.

The apparatus may include a midi-sequence module configured to store a plurality of main midi sequences, store a plurality of fill midi sequences, and playback a plurality of main midi sequences and the plurality of fill midi sequences. The apparatus can also include a first foot-operable switch configured to operate the midi-sequence module, an instrument input, and a looping means configured to record a plurality of signals received from the instrument input, generate a plurality of recorded loops associated with the plurality of recorded signals, store the plurality of recorded loops, and playback each of the plurality of recorded loops. The apparatus can also include a second foot-operable switch configured to operate the looping means.

Performance assistance apparatus and method
To assist a human player in performing a plurality of foot operators (pedal keys) operable with a human player's foot, a foot operator image indicative of the foot operators is displayed on a display screen. Model performance data including at least information indicative of a rhythm and a pitch of a foot performance part to be performed by use of the foot operators is acquired, and a particular foot operator corresponding to the pitch of the foot performance part included in the acquired model performance data is visually designated. At the same time, based on rhythm information for the foot performance part, a rhythm of a sound corresponding to the particular foot operator is presented. The presentation of the rhythm is performed by presenting a sound generation timing and a time length of the sound, and a suitable marker indicative of a performance progression may be additionally displayed.
