Pace-aware music player
An electronic device may comprise audio processing circuitry, pace tracking circuitry, and positioning circuitry. The pace tracking circuitry may be operable to selects a tempo of songs for playback, by the audio processing circuitry based on position data generated by the positioning circuitry, a desired tempo, and whether the songs are stored locally or network-accessible. The position data may indicate the pace of a runner during a preceding, determined time interval. The pace tracking circuitry may control the song selection and/or time stretching based on a runner profile data stored in memory of the music device. The profile data may include runner's distance-per-stride data. The electronic device may include sensors operable to function as a pedometer. The pace tracking circuitry may update the distance-per-stride data based on the position data and based on data output by the one or more sensors.
APPARATUS, SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR RECORDING AND RENDERING MULTIMEDIA
An apparatus may be designed to enable a user to receive, record, display, edit, arrange, re-arrange, play, loop, extend, export and import audio and video data. The audio and video data to be organized as, for example, but not limited to, a song comprised of song parts. The song parts may be comprised of tracks, and each track may be comprised of one or more layers. The various methods and systems disclosed herein incorporate such data segmentation to enable the user to intuitively and hands-free record, arrange, and perform songs comprised of both sequential and parallel tracks. In this way, the looper may enable a musician to record and loop tracks for a song, arrange the tracks into song parts, and during the same session, transition the playback from one song part to another, all the while recording a track on top of the transitioning song parts.

The creation of the notes is synchronized to a master tempo in order to allow the subjects to play together in a unified fashion similar to a choir. A riff mode allows the subjects to produce multiple notes per beat. The music is rendered using a software synthesis algorithm that employs the pre-recorded sounds of real instruments. The software can also utilize MIDI devices if the operating system has that capability. The software allows the user to load and save their settings so they can create and experiment with their own choir configurations and musical scales.
