ENHANCING ARTIFICIAL REVERBERATION IN A NOISY ENVIRONMENT VIA NOISE-DEPENDENT COMPRESSION

Techniques for regenerating reverberation include generating a reverberation signal based on a source signal and a response of a listening space, generating a compressed reverberation signal by increasing output levels of a first portion of the reverberation signal having output levels below a threshold level more than output levels of a second portion of the reverberation signal having output levels above the threshold level, and combining the compressed reverberation signal with the source signal to form an output signal for the listening space.

The sound signal processing method includes obtaining a sound signal of a sound source, convolving, according to a location of the sound source an impulse response of an early reflection sound with the sound signal to generate an early reflection sound control signal that reproduces an early reflection sound, and convolving an impulse response of a reverberant sound with the sound signal to generate a reverberant sound control signal that reproduces a reverberant sound.

INTEGRATED KARAOKE DEVICE

The present invention discloses an integrated karaoke device, including a microphone and a sound box. The sound box includes a sound chamber containing a loudspeaker. The integrated karaoke device further includes a connecting part made of flexible material that is fixedly connected between a bottom of the microphone and a top of the sound chamber. The use of a flexible material connecting part rather than a solid structural part reduces the transmission to the microphone of sound vibration generated by the sound box. The beneficial effect of implementing the present invention is that a flexible material connecting part is fixedly connected between the bottom of the microphone and the top of the sound chamber, and meanwhile, a gap is kept between the bottom of a printed circuit board (PCB) and the top of the sound chamber; and because the flexible material connecting part can effectively reduce sound vibration, the transmission of vibration to the microphone from the sound box can be effectively eliminated, thereby preventing squealing, and enabling integration of the microphone and the sound box for use in karaoke.

External Controller for an Intelligent Cable or Cable Adapter

A wireless controller that allows a musician to wirelessly switch between audio effect presets, loops, and/or songs which are stored in a specialized audio/instrument cable or adapter. The wireless controller can be located in the same place as (or incorporated into) a digital guitar tuner on a guitar headstock allowing the musician to operate the wireless controller in a familiar location while switching between audio effect presets, loops, and/or songs by tapping on small buttons.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CAPTURING AND INTERPRETING AUDIO
20220199059 · 2022-06-23 ·

A device is provided for capturing vibrations produced by an object such as a musical instrument such as a drum head of a drum kit. The device comprises a detectable element, such as a ferromagnetic element, such as a metal shim and a sensor spaced apart from and located relative to the musical instrument. The detectable element is located between the sensor and the musical instrument. When the musical instrument vibrates, the sensor remains stationary and the detectable element is vibrated relative to the sensor by the musical instrument.

Modal reverb effects for an acoustic space

Methods and systems for performing modified reverb techniques for audio signals are described. The method may involve receiving an audio signal, a modal reverb effect to be applied to the audio signal, and an indication of a plurality of frequencies. Modes of vibration of a space simulated by the reverb effect may be separated into a set of frequencies included in the input, and a set frequencies not included in the input. The modal reverb effect may be modified by separately adjusting the separate sets of modes of vibration. The modified effect may then be applied to the audio signal.

Reverberation technique for 3D audio objects

Reverberation techniques for 3D audio are disclosed. In an example method, a three-dimensional (3D) reverberation is applied to a sound object placed at a sound object position in a sound room. The sound object originates from a sound object position. A sound object signal is received. A 3D spatial room response (SRR) signal is computed corresponding to the user-selected position. A time convolution operation is performed between an audio signal of the sound object signal and the computed SRR value to generate a reverberated signal.

Methods and apparatus for reducing stuttering

A feedback system may play back, to a user, an altered version of the user's voice in real time, in order to reduce stuttering by the user. The system may operate in different feedback modes at different times. For instance, the system may detect when the severity of a user's stuttering increases, which is indicative of the user habituating to the current feedback mode. The system may then switch to a different feedback mode. In some cases, the feedback modes include at least a Whisper mode, a Reverb mode, and a Harmony mode. In Whisper mode, the user's voice may be transformed to sound as if it were whispering in the user's ears. In Harmony mode, the user's voice may be altered as if the user were harmonizing with himself or herself. In Reverb mode, the user's voice may be altered so that it reverberates.
