The system comprises one humidity sensor for measuring humidity in the vicinity of the portion of a body, one temperature adjustment element for providing heat to a portion of the body, a memory unit for storing one threshold humidity related value (H.sub.thresh) and one reference user information related values (t.sub.ref, θ.sub.ref), a controlling unit in communication with the humidity sensor, with the memory unit and with the temperature adjustment element, and configured to determine one instant user information related value (t.sub.inst, θ.sub.inst), perform a comparison between one instant user information related value (tin.sub.ct, θ.sub.inst) and one triggering user information related value (t.sub.trig, θ.sub.trig) based on said reference user information related value (t.sub.ref, θ.sub.ref), activate the temperature adjustment element to provide heat to a portion of the body depending on the result of said comparison.
The controlling unit is further configured to receive one instant humidity (H.sub.inst) measured in the vicinity of the portion of the body from the humidity sensor, perform a comparison between said instant humidity related value (H.sub.inst) and one triggering humidity related value (H.sub.trig) based on said threshold humidity related value (H.sub.thresh), and to set the one triggering user information related value (t.sub.trig, θ.sub.trig) to a value lower than said reference user information related value (t.sub.ref, θ.sub.ref) when the instant humidity related value (H.sub.inst) is greater or equal to said threshold humidity related value (H.sub.thresh).
Reconfiguration Compatible Thermal Pad
Disclosed herein is a system, apparatus and method directed to an expandable and conformable targeted temperature management (TTM) pad. The system, apparatus and method pertain to a medical pad for exchanging thermal energy between a TTM fluid and a patient. The pad includes an insulating layer, a fluid containing layer for containing the TTM fluid, and a patient contact surface. The fluid containing layer is configured for circulating the TTM fluid. The patient contact surface defines a first patient contact area to facilitate thermal energy exchange with the patient. One or more slits are arranged in at least the insulating layer of the pad to facilitate stretching the pad and conforming to a contour of a patient's anatomy. The stretching can expand the patient contact surface to a larger second patient contact area. The pad can further include a flexible fabric cover.
Therapeutic brain cooling system and spinal cord cooling system
This disclosure relates to a brain cooling and spinal cord cooling system, device or mechanism for use in military helmets, and in an adapted format in non-military helmets. The system is comprised of an inflatable pad, or a set of interconnected pads, attached to the interior surface of the helmet, together with a series of valves that allow cooling gases to be delivered from a high pressure canister. The use of different cooling gases permits the achievement and maintenance of cooling of the brain for 24 to 96 hours at a mild (36° C.) or moderate (33° C.-35° C.) brain hypothermia, which is 1.5° C.-4.5° C. below the core temperature.
MULTI-FUNCTION HEATED GARMENT CAPABLE OF PERFORMING MULTIDIRECTIONAL PHYSICAL THERAPY
A multi-function heated garment capable of performing multidirectional physical therapy includes a garment body, a hood, a heating control device, a quick charge source, and a heating load. The heating load includes at least one first carbon fiber heating sheet and a second carbon fiber heating sheet arranged inside the garment body and the hood, respectively. Second electrically conductive buttons provided on the garment body are buckled and electrically connected to first electrically conductive buttons provided on the hood. The hood can be connected or disconnected as required. The carbon fiber heating sheets share the quick charge source and the heating control device. It is safe and convenient to use. It can perform multi-directional heating and infrared physical therapy on various parts of the human body.
ATHLETIC CHAIR WITH ADJUSTABLE HEATING AND HEIGHT
A seating assembly for athletes includes seats having a back and seat portion, a base, an adjustable element, a user interface device, and a controller. The back portion includes a back heating member that provides heat to a user's torso. The seat portion includes a lower limb heating member that provides heat to the user's lower limbs. The base supports each seat. The adjustable element is coupled to the base and one of the seats and adjusts height of the seat. The user interface device receives an input regarding a desired temperature of the back heating member and the lower limb heating member. The controller receives the input and adjusts an operation of the back heating member and the lower limb heating member to achieve the desired temperature. The user interface device receives a second input to adjust the a height of the seat relative to the floor surface.
PHYSICAL MODALITY TREATMENT CHAIR
A therapeutic chair is disclosed with moving parts that permit a user to implement a regimen of physical modality treatment, including non-axial vertebral decompression, flexion extension, distraction, rotation, and lateral flexion.
Freezable Pet Harness
A freezable pet harness is an apparatus that cools down the pet's body while also comforting the pet during hot days. The apparatus may include a back-bracing pad, a neck-bracing strap, a girth-bracing band, and at least one primary gel pack. The back-bracing pad corresponds to the portion of the apparatus covering the pet's back. The neck-bracing strap secures the apparatus to the pet's neck to prevent the apparatus from getting loose. The girth-bracing band keeps the back-bracing pad positioned against the pet's back while also securing the apparatus to the pet's body. The at least one primary gel pack enables the apparatus to remain cool enough to maintain the pet's body cool when the apparatus is being worn by the pet. The at least one primary gel pack also weights down the back-bracing pad against the pet's body so that the apparatus can also serve as a gel-weighted blanket.
