Electronic musical interface
An electronic musical interface performs the following: displaying a chord function progression of a first segment of a musical piece that is to be played by a user in a first region of a display via identifiers specifying respective chord functions; playing back an automatic accompaniment of the first segment; receiving user performance data as the user plays the musical note input device along with the playback of the automatic accompaniment; analyzing each chord contained in the obtained user performance data to determine the chord function of each chord the user played; and displaying, in a second region of the display alongside the first region, an identifier that identifies the determined chord function of the chord the user plays so that the user can determine whether the chord function of each chord the user played matches the chord function of the chord displayed in the first region.
Performance assistance apparatus and method
To assist a human player in performing a plurality of foot operators (pedal keys) operable with a human player's foot, a foot operator image indicative of the foot operator group is displayed on a display screen. Chord information of a chord to be performed is acquired, and a pitch of a bass note corresponding to the chord indicated by the acquired chord information is identified. A particular foot operator corresponding to the identified pitch of the bass note is visually designated on the foot operator image displayed on the display screen. An object indicative of a chord name is displayed on the same display screen. Objects indicative of one or more chord names corresponding to a chord progression over a plurality of measures is displayed. A display object highlighting one object indicative of a particular chord name is added in accordance with a progression of a performance.
Resonance sound signal generation device, resonance sound signal generation method, non-transitory computer readable medium storing resonance sound signal generation program and electronic musical apparatus
A resonance sound signal generation device comprises a designation receiver that receives designation of a pitch, a sound signal instructor that provides an instruction for generating a sound signal corresponding to the designated pitch, a producer that produces a resonance sound signal representing a resonance sound based on a plurality of pitches, a determiner that determines whether another pitch is designated at a time of designation of one pitch, and a resonance sound instructor that instructs the producer to produce a resonance sound signal of the one pitch and a resonance sound signal of the another pitch based on the one pitch and the another pitch when determination is made that the another pitch is designated at the time of designation of the one pitch, and does not instruct the producer to produce resonance sound signals when determination is made that the another pitch is not designated at the time of designation of the one pitch.
APPARATUS, METHOD, AND COMPUTER-READABLE MEDIUM FOR GENERATING MUSICAL PIECES
An apparatus, method, and computer-readable storage medium that generate a harmonized musical piece. The method includes receiving a chord selection including a musical key and a scale selection, generating, within a digital audio work session, a chord progression sequence based on the received chord selection, in response to a detected chord selection change, modifying the chord progression sequence to include a chord progression corresponding to the chord selection change, setting the chord progression sequence as a master sequence, in response to detecting a second progression sequence within the digital audio work session, transmitting an identifier to the second progression sequence setting it as a slave sequence, and establishing a synchronized communication link between the master and the slave sequences such that changes made in the master sequence are automatically effectuated in the slave sequence, and combining the master sequence and the slave sequence to form a composed musical piece.

Musical chord identification, selection and playing method and means for physical and virtual musical instruments
A method, apparatus, and User Interface, and product for assisting users learning to play the Chords of any selected Song quickly and easily and provide a Means to quickly and easily generate the individual Note sounds for the Chords of the selected Song employing a broad range of Virtual and Physical Instrument.
Method and apparatus for computer-aided mash-up variations of music and other sequences, including mash-up variation by chaotic mapping
A method for creating mash-ups of musical and/or other inputs includes parsing each input into a sequence of elements, which can be of equal length, beat-matching the inputs to make corresponding elements of equal beat length, and combining the elements to form a mash-up. Embodiments align the inputs before combination. The inputs can each include a plurality of tracks. Improved chaotic mapping can be used to substitute elements between tracks of the inputs. The elements, singly or in groups, can be modified before substitution. In other embodiments elements from the input tracks are introduced into a mash-up template whereby different combinations of corresponding elements are included in each mash-up frame. The tracks can be successively introduced into the mash-up and/or successively eliminated in a final Coda section of the mash-up. The combinations can be according to a recognizable pattern, which can be repeated, or determined by improved chaotic mapping.
Platter based electronic musical instrument
A platter based electronic musical instrument is operable to shift the frequency of a sound sample as a function of a rotational position of the platter and a scale selection signal. The electronic musical instrument is further operable to render the frequency shifted sound sample. A scale of the electronic musical instrument is selected via a leash. The leash determines the selected scale of the electronic musical instrument as a function of input provided by (e.g., a chord played on) a controlling musical instrument.
