Musical notation keyboard
The invention relates to the digital music writing being a digital musical notation symbols input tool. The invention is a keyboard specially dedicated for digital input of musical notation symbols. The keyboard is used for digital input of sheet music. The keyboard can be implemented as a physical device and shaped as combination of images in a touch screen. Every musical notation symbol shall be inputed with the keyboard control element specially dedicated for input of such symbol. Novelty of the invention is that the keyboard is a device specially dedicated for input of musical notation which does not require any accessories; all the musical notation symbols can be inputed using this keyboard only with the combination of two actions: indication of the symbol's location and the symbol itself; all the symbols shall be inputed as such, not by indication of their values; all the symbols which consist of elements, which have the values of their own shall be inputed by elements; the note heads, located vertically in different positions on the musical staff shall be considered as independent signs.
Data-Driven Autosuggestion Within Media Content Creation Applications
A media composition application, such as a musical scorewriter or a digital audio workstation, provides in situ suggestions for continuation or completion of a media composition. The suggestions are based on some or all of the portion of the composition already composed or are based on a corpus of compositions, such as those by a particular composer or those of a specific genre. The length of the suggestions is specified by the user. The suggestions are provided within a graphical user interface of the application and displayed as a possible direct continuation of the composition within a musical stave. If the user rejects the suggestion, additional suggestions are automatically displayed in situ. Reductive, most-probable suggestions may be offered as well as exploratory suggestions that facilitate a creative compositional interaction between user and application. Data filters enable selected aspects of a data source to be used for suggestion generation.
MUSICAL PERFORMANCE ASSISTANCE APPARATUS AND METHOD
Musical score acquisition section acquires musical score information representing a musical score of a music piece to be practiced by a user. Target portion setting section sets a plurality of portions of the music piece as target portions for training, respectively. Target musical score acquisition section acquires target musical score information indicative of partial musical scores of the respective target portions for training set by the target portion setting section. Display control section controls, on the basis of the target musical score information acquired by the target musical score acquisition section, a display device to display two or more of target musical scores in a side-by-side arrangement. Thus, a user can easily grasp the plurality of target portions for training.
Input Support Apparatus and Method Therefor
An input support method is provided for use in an input support apparatus that supports input of a music note. The method includes: controlling a display unit to display a pitch-time plane that includes a pitch-axis and a time-axis, a chord sequence that is associated with the time-axis of the pitch-time plane, and a pointer that indicates a position on the time-axis along the chord sequence; identifying constituent music notes that form a chord corresponding to a display position of the pointer along the chord sequence; and controlling the display unit to display areas on the pitch-time plane, each displayed area indicating a corresponding one of the identified constituent music notes, differently from other areas on the pitch-time plane.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SCORE AND SCREENPLAY BASED AUDIO AND VIDEO EDITING
According to embodiments of the present disclosure, systems, methods, and computer program products for audio- and video-editing are provided. A reference file comprising a visual representation (e.g., musical score) of a final video/audio product is read and displayed to a user. A plurality of sections (e.g., measures) and a plurality of symbols (e.g., notes) are determined. A plurality of audio/video recordings are read where each recording corresponding to at least a portion of the visual representation. For each of the plurality of sections, a corresponding segment of at least one of the plurality of audio/video recordings is determined. First selections of a section of the plurality of sections are received from the user. For each of the first selections, a listing of the plurality of audio/video recordings in which at least a portion of the selected section occurs is displayed to the user. For each of the first selections, a second selection of an audio/video recording from the listing is received from the user thereby linking the selected section to the corresponding segment of the selected audio/video recording. An audio/video file is generated by combining each of the linked segments.
COMPOSITION PRODUCTION WITH AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION
Methods are provided for enabling audience members at a live or substantially live performance to interact with performers and participate in the performance.
SOUND SYNTHESIZING METHOD AND PROGRAM
A sound synthesizing method according to one aspect of the present disclosure relates to a sound synthesizing method that is realized by a computer, including receiving musical score data and acoustic data via a user interface; and generating, based on respective one of the musical score data and the acoustic data, acoustic features of a sound waveform having a desired timbre.
System, method, and non-transitory computer-readable storage medium for collaborating on a musical composition over a communication network
A system and methods for collaborating on a musical composition over a communication network, the system having processing circuitry that obtains the musical composition stored within a data storage device of the system, the musical composition including a first musical input data associated with a first channel, receives, via the communication network, second musical input data from a client device, the second musical input data being associated with a second channel, generates a data block based on the received second musical input data, the generated data block including synchronization data associated with the second musical input data relative to at least a portion of the musical composition, and transmits the data block to memory, the memory being accessible via the communication network to the client device and other client devices that are collaborating on the musical composition.
Data exchange for music creation applications
An operator of a digital audio workstation (DAW) application is able to assign individual tracks of a DAW session for export to specific players within a musical score of a scorewriter application. The DAW operator associates each track with a player identifier, which is retained in association with an interoperable format file generated by the export process. When the scorewriter imports such a file, it extracts the player identifier and uses it to map the track to a scored instrument. The mapping may also depend on a scorewriter arrangement of players for the instruments. The DAW operator may assign multiple tracks representing a given instrument played with different techniques to a single instrument part in a score. The playing techniques for the instruments are also associated with the tracks and may be parsed by the scorewriter to annotate the score with the corresponding notations.
Composition production with audience participation
Methods are provided for enabling audience members at a live or substantially live performance to interact with performers and participate in the performance.
