Network musical instrument
11727904 · 2023-08-15 · ·

Methods and systems are described that are utilized for remotely controlling a musical instrument. A first digital record comprising musical instrument digital commands from a first electronic instrument for a first item of music is accessed. The first digital record is transmitted over a network using a network interface to a remote, second electronic instrument for playback to a first user. Optionally, video data is streamed to a display device of a user while the first digital record is played back by the second electronic instrument. A key change command is transmitted over the network using the network interface to the second electronic instrument to cause the second electronic instrument to playback the first digital record for the first item of music in accordance with the key change command. The key change command may be transmitted during the streaming of the video data.

Systems and methods for generating a graphical representation of audio signal data during time compression or expansion

Systems and methods for generating a graphical representation of audio signal data during time compression or expansion are provided. The system may include a processor that performs a method including displaying a waveform during audio-signal playback at a first speed by scrolling the waveform from aright portion of a display to a left portion of the display. The method includes receiving a command to increase or decrease the audio-signal playback speed and horizontally expanding or horizontally contracting the waveform in response to receiving the command to increase or decrease the audio-signal playback speed.

COMPUTER VISION AND MAPPING FOR AUDIO APPLICATIONS
20210366449 · 2021-11-25 ·

Systems, devices, media, and methods are presented for playing audio sounds, such as music, on a portable electronic device using a digital color image of a note matrix on a map. A computer vision engine, in an example implementation, includes a mapping module, a color detection module, and a music playback module. The camera captures a color image of the map, including a marker and a note matrix. Based on the color image, the computer vision engine detects a token color value associated with each field. Each token color value is associated with a sound sample from a specific musical instrument. A global state map is stored in memory, including the token color value and location of each field in the note matrix. The music playback module, for each column, in order, plays the notes associated with one or more the rows, using the corresponding sound sample, according to the global state map.

The information processing device 100 provides an interface capable of generating music information by editing a part of elements forming the music information, and generates new music information by a machine learning model on the basis of a plurality of pieces of music information created using the interface.

METHOD, SYSTEM AND COMPUTER PROGRAM FOR ENABLING FLEXIBLE SOUND COMPOSITION UTILITIES
20220013097 · 2022-01-13 · ·

A computer system for enabling generation/controlling/modification of sound elements is provided. A computer program defines a sound engine. The sound engine includes or is linked to one or more musical composition interfaces that enable one or more users to access a music generator/controller/modifier utility (“music generator”), so as to graphically map one or more musical notes by tracing one or more Bezier paths defined that are processable by the music generator so as to define five fundamental note qualities: Tone, pitch, volume, applied effects and duration. The music generator enables user manipulation of the Bezier paths, including touch input modification of the paths (e.g. dragging, forming etc.) that modify fundamental qualities of the corresponding note.

A music composition, editing, and playback system and method provides a user interface design based on geometric interpretation of music theory replacing traditional modern music notation with geometric shapes including chords represented by polygons that are colored with colors or hues.

Editing of midi files

A system is provided for editing an audio file. The system displays, on an electronic device, a piano roll. The system receives a user input to cut a segment of the piano roll. The segment of the piano roll includes a respective tone that extends across both sides of the segment of the piano roll, such that the respective tone includes: a first portion of the respective tone that precedes the segment of the piano roll; and a second portion of the respective tone that follows the segment of the piano roll. In response to the user input to cut the segment of the piano roll, the system cuts the segment from the piano roll and, without user intervention, concatenate the first portion of the respective tone with the second portion of the respective tone.

Techniques for creating and presenting media content

Different types of media experiences can be developed based on characteristics of the consumer. “Linear” experiences may require execution of a pre-built script, although the script could be dynamically modified by a media production platform. Linear experiences can include guided audio tours that are modified or updated based on the location of the consumer. “Enhanced” experiences include conventional media content that is supplemented with intelligent media content. For example, turn-by-turn directions could be supplemented with audio descriptions about the surrounding area. “Freeform” experiences, meanwhile, are those that can continually morph based on information gleaned from a consumer. For example, a radio station may modify what content is being presented based on the geographical metadata uploaded by a computing device associated with the consumer.

Lane- and rhythm-based melody generation system

To generate a melody, one or more machine-readable constraints are accepted from a user through a user interface. The constraints include rhythm constraints and pitch constraints. A sequence of musical elements is generated based on the constraints, each of the musical elements specifying, in machine-readable data, a musical pitch or silence and a duration of the musical pitch or silence. The pitch constraints prescribe pitches in the sequence of musical elements and the rhythm constraints prescribe rhythm of the sequence of musical elements. The sequence of musical elements is rendered in human-perceivable form as a melody.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR GENERATING A MIXED AUDIO FILE IN A DIGITAL AUDIO WORKSTATION

An electronic device receives a source audio file from a user of a digital audio workstation and a target MIDI file, the target MIDI file comprising digital representations for a series of notes. The electronic device generates a series of sounds from the target MIDI file, each respective sound in the series of sounds corresponding to a respective note in the series of notes. The electronic device divides the source audio file into a plurality of segments. For each sound in the series of sounds, the electronic device matches a segment from the plurality of segments to the sound based on a weighted combination of features identified for the corresponding sound. The electronic device generates an audio file in which the series of sounds from the target MIDI file are replaced with the matched segment corresponding to each sound.
