Storage medium and tone generation state displaying apparatus

When a processor accepts an input of plural notes to be assigned for tone generation, according to a predetermined note determining rule called assignment type, the processor selects one or more notes to be sounded in each of plural parts from the accepted notes. The processor controls a display unit to display, for each of the plural parts, the accepted plural notes to be assigned for tone generation. At this time, non-selected one or more notes in respective parts are displayed in one style, and the selected one or more notes in the respective parts are displayed in another style different from the one style. Alternatively, the plural notes to be assigned for tone generation are displayed in one style, and, for each of the plural parts, the selected one or more notes are displayed in another style different from the one style.

Improvisation or playing along with a musical group or with a song is enjoyable to people and musicians of all ability levels. However, it is easy to play notes which do not harmonize with other notes and pitches which are being played. Provided herein is a method, computer program product and electronic device for assigning a set of pitches to a plurality of cells of an electronic device having a touch screen input device. The method may include the steps of obtaining an input chord, disassembling the chord into at least one base note and a plurality of individual voices, arranging a predetermined number of voices of the chord according to at least one predefined rule, and assigning at least one set of pitches to a plurality of cells of an electronic device, said set of pitches corresponding to the base note and arranged predetermined number of voices of the chord. The present method allows a musician to freely play along without the possibility of playing an errant note as the user does not control the actual pitch associated with the cells being indicated by a user on the touch screen.

STRINGLESS BOWED MUSICAL INSTRUMENT
20170103741 · 2017-04-13 · ·

A stringless electric bowed musical instrument is disclosed in which sensors are provided to detect finger positions and bowing motions of the player. A touch-sensitive fingerboard surface is equipped with pitch sensors that detect finger positions. Use of a fingerboard surface that includes an interactive flexible touch screen display provides a plurality of illumination patterns to be displayed on the fingerboard and permits various operational modes that are useful for both students and artists. A bowing platform in contact with either the fingerboard or the body of the instrument provides an adjustable bowing surface for including bow sensors configured to detect vibrations in response to bow motion. The bow sensors may include piezo-ceramic elements. Optical pitch sensors may sense interruption of one or more laser beams that propagate above a top surface of the fingerboard.
