Provided is a switching device for an electronic musical instrument, comprising: a plurality of first electrodes that are adjacently arranged; a second electrode arranged between a pair of the plurality of first electrodes, and insulated from the plurality of first electrodes by a plurality of spaces; a rotatable actuator; and a conductive member configured to electrically connect the first electrodes and the second electrode according to rotation of the actuator. The plurality of spaces extend longitudinally in a first direction. The first direction is a direction between a rotational shaft direction of the actuator and a direction orthogonal to the rotational shaft direction.

Modular control device

A modular control device for controlling a device, a process or an application, comprises a plurality of control modules, a module housing base, comprising an electronic motherboard where a plurality of electrical base contact groups is formed, arranged as an array, each electrical base contact group implementing an electrical connection with the electrical module contacts, and an electronic output interface operatively connected to the base. Each control module is provided with releasable coupling means adapted to allow quick fitting and release of each control module on and off the base. The motherboard is configured to bring electrical power to each control module fitted on the base, recognize placement and orientation of each module fitted on the base, and transmit to the electronic output interface electrical control signals generated by the control modules. The electronic output interface converts electrical control signals into electrical output signals compatible with the device, process or application to be controlled.

A control device (1) for controlling the sound of an electric musical instrument has a tread plate (2) and a signal generator (3). The tread plate (2) is mounted pivotally about a first axis (4a) and is mounted pivotally about a second axis (4b). The signal generator is configured such that it generates a first electrical signal for controlling the sound and a second electrical signal for controlling the sound, the first electrical signal being the result of a rotation of the tread plate (2) about the first axis (4a) and the second electrical signal being the result of a rotation of the tread plate (2) about the second axis (4b). A control system comprises a control device of this type and the electric musical instrument.

Keyboard sensor systems and methods

A sensing system for a keyboard. Each key sensor comprises passive and active resonant circuits. The passive resonant circuit has a resonant frequency and the active resonant circuit excites the passive resonant circuit at the resonant frequency. A sensor driver drives the active resonant circuit with an RF drive signal, a multiplexing system multiplexes the drive signal such that simultaneously driven key sensors are separated by at least (k−1) keys, and a detector detects a level of RF signal from a driven key sensor for sensing a position and/or velocity of a key.

Operation detection device for key operation of keyboard device, operation detection method of key operation, and keyboard device

An operation detection device for a key operation of a keyboard device includes a conductive unit configured to be disposed on each of keys, a substrate configured to be disposed facing each of the keys in a pressing direction of the keys. The substrate is provided with a sensor including at least first and second coils, the sensor being configured to be disposed spaced from one key so that at least one of the first or second coil outputs a signal corresponding to a distance between the one key and the respective sensor. The operation detection device includes a detection unit configured to detect a displacement of the one key in at least one of a yaw direction or a roll direction based on signals output from the first and second coils during a key pressing stroke of the one key.

Different aspects of the invention implement a sensor module that can be configured as a keyboard module or as a pedal module, allowing to connect a plurality of keyboard and pedal modules to assemble a configuration to the user's liking, such as, for example, the usual configuration of an 87-key piano together with two pedals. The sensor module transmits information about detected key or pedal strokes to a computer application for playback, either aural or visual. At the same time, the sensor module allows, both in the keyboard module and pedal module configuration, to transmit the feeling of playing a real piano.
