In some embodiments, the methods include receiving a plurality of key signals related to a first performance of a piece of music, wherein each of the plurality of key signals corresponds to motion of at least one key of a piano during the first performance; generating first performance information based on the plurality of key signals; receiving musical data related to a second performance of the piece of music; receiving musical data related to a second performance of the piece of music, generating second performance information based on the musical data; and providing content for presentation on a display device based on the first performance information and the second performance information. The methods can also include receiving at least one pedal signal corresponding to motion of a pedal of the piano during the first performance, and generating first performance information based on the pedal signal.

ELECTRONIC WIND INSTRUMENT AND KEY OPERATION DETECTION METHOD
20210065666 · 2021-03-04 · ·

An electronic wind instrument and key operation detection method are provided. The electronic wind instrument includes an instrument body and a plurality of keys which have an operation surface operated by a player's finger and are provided on an external surface of the instrument body. Among the plurality of keys, at least two keys disposed to sandwich or surround a predetermined region comprise restriction parts formed on the operation surfaces. The restriction parts restrict escape of the player's finger from between the at least two keys having the restriction parts formed thereon.

A pivot member includes: a first member configured to pivot about a pivot axis; and a second member having a connecting surface, at least a portion of which has a flat surface. The second member is disposed such that the flat surface and the first member are opposed to each other. The second member has at least one surface different from the flat surface. A first identifier and a second identifier are provided on the at least one surface. The first identifier is visually recognizable from a first direction orthogonal to the flat surface. The second identifier is visually recognizable from the first direction and from a second direction in which the first identifier is not visually recognizable.

To realize a rotating mechanism by which a bearing section is stably rotated relative to a shaft section. A rotating mechanism includes a shaft section having a groove, and a bearing section which is provided with an opening for supporting the shaft section, has a shielding plate shielding part of the opening and disposed inside the groove, and is rotated around a rotational axis. The shielding plate may shield a region containing the rotational axis, and may have a projecting portion projecting from the shielding plate toward the inside of the groove, between the shielding plate and the groove.

KEYBOARD SENSOR SYSTEMS AND METHODS
20200320966 · 2020-10-08 ·

A sensing system for a keyboard. Each key sensor comprises passive and active resonant circuits. The passive resonant circuit has a resonant frequency and the active resonant circuit excites the passive resonant circuit at the resonant frequency. A sensor driver drives the active resonant circuit with an RF drive signal, a multiplexing system multiplexes the drive signal such that simultaneously driven key sensors are separated by at least (k1) keys, and a detector detects a level of RF signal from a driven key sensor for sensing a position and/or velocity of a key.

Keyboard apparatus

A keyboard apparatus includes: a key disposed to be pivotable with respect to a frame; a hammer assembly disposed to be pivotable in response to pivotal movement of the key; a first member; a second member disposed to be slid and moved on the first member when the hammer assembly pivots in response to pivotal movement of the key; and a third member connected to the first member and configured to guide the second member such that the second member is not located at a distance greater than or equal to a predetermined distance from the first member, the third member having a shape in which a second contact area that is an area of contact between the second member and the third member is less than a first contact area that is an area of contact between the first member and the second member.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CALIBRATING A MUSICAL DEVICE
20200273440 · 2020-08-27 · ·

The present disclosure relates to a method and system for calibrating a musical device. In some embodiments, a method for calibrating a musical device includes: energizing an actuator to actuate a key using a force corresponding to a first intensity level; obtaining, from a sensor, a first sensor signal representing motion information of the key corresponding to application of the force; and calibrating the musical device based on the first sensor signal.

Controller for producing control signals

A controller, method, system, and computer-readable medium, for producing control signals. The controller comprises a pressure sensor, a hinged input mechanism configured to receive input forces and direct them towards the sensor, and a processor. The processor is configured to receive a signal from the pressure sensor indicating that the hinged input mechanism is being depressed or released and, based on the received signal, to determine, during a time interval, a rate of change of pressure detected at the sensor. The processor also generates a control signal associated with the hinged input mechanism, wherein the control signal comprises a velocity characteristic representing a speed at which the hinged input mechanism is depressed or released, and the velocity characteristic is based at least partly on the determined rate of change of pressure. In one example embodiment, the control signal is an audio control.
