THERAPEUTIC SPLINT
A therapeutic splint for the treatment of one or more joint areas of a patient. The splint includes longitudinal housings extending along a longitudinal axis (L) and arranged parallel to this longitudinal axis (L); one or more modular cartridges with therapeutic effect suitable for being arranged in the housings according to the joint area (s) to be treated. The splint further includes at least one transverse and/or oblique housing extending along one or more transverse and/or oblique axes (O), respectively, with respect to the longitudinal axis (L) of the splint. The transverse and/or oblique housing is arranged so as to cover an area extending around a joint to be treated. The modular cartridge or cartridges are arranged in the transverse and/or oblique housings according to the joint area(s) to be treated.
Treatment apparatus and mechanisms for an infected nail
A method of treating nail infections that uses nail protein removing compositions to reduce cell to cell cohesion; antimicrobial composition to reduce surface tension, inhibit spores, and attack infection cell membranes; an enclosure capable of heating the antimicrobial composition above nail temperature and capable of dispensing antimicrobial composition to infected nails.
ARTICLES TO MANIPULATE THE TEMPERATURE OF BODY EXTREMITIES
Temperature of the extremities is a significant factor in temperature control of the body due to the presence of thermal receptors in the extremities. The brain uses signals from these thermal receptors as an indication of environmental conditions, and responds accordingly. Thermal monitoring of extremities and adjustment of extremity temperature are valuable in controlling body temperature, leading to a more optimum body temperature in an array of environmental conditions. Devices, such as a wearable article, and an apparatus to monitor the temperature of extremities, adjust the temperature of the extremities in response to the monitored temperature.
WRITING INSTRUMENT
The present disclosure relates to measuring recovery of a finger skin temperature of a writing instrument's user, comprising: measuring a first finger skin temperature of a user's finger contacting a grip area of the writing instrument during a writing session with the writing instrument; cooling the finger contacting the grip area with a cooling element and for a cooling duration; measuring a second finger skin temperature after lapse of the cooling duration; calculating the skin temperature reduction; measuring a series of finger temperature measurements after lapse of the cooling duration; calculating a temperature recovery rate based on the series of finger temperature measurements; comparing the skin temperature reduction and the temperature recovery rate to historical data and/or reference data; and providing an indication to the user in case that the skin temperature reduction and/or the temperature recovery rate are abnormal as compared to the historical data and/or reference data.
Cool finger system
A thermal digit wrap system includes a thermal digit wrap assembly having a first edge having at least one loop mated fastener strip, a second edge, a third edge having at least one hook mated fastener strap, a fourth edge; a top side; a bottom side; and an interior volume having at least one cooling gel located between the top side and the bottom side. The thermal digit wrap assembly is structured and arranged to enable it to act in a capacity of a splint and immobilizes an injured digit. The thermal digit wrap system provides an isolated cold-pack via cooling gel to reduce swelling and pain following an injury to the digit.

Patient warming device with patient access
A patient warming device with patient access for maintaining normothermia and/or treating hypothermia is provided. The device includes a first compliant layer and a second compliant layer sealed together around an outer border to contain a liquid between the two layers and to form a wrap that surrounds and conforms to a body portion of a patient. A plurality of flaps extends from opposite sides of a generally longitudinal central portion of the wrap, such that one or more flaps from the opposite sides fasten to each other to surround the body portion. The flaps are openable during functional use to provide access to an underlying patient body surface. A continuous fluid flow path extends between the first compliant layer and the second compliant layer between a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet to carry liquid and deliver heat through the wrap.
System, retainer and method of preventing and treating nosocomial infections including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus infections
According to an exemplary embodiment, a retainer for therapeutic treatment may be provided. The retainer for therapeutic treatment may include: a retainer that may retain a antimicrobial solution against tissue; a number of heating elements connected to the retainer for therapeutic treatment; a number of power supply cables connected to the number of heating elements; a number of antimicrobial solution delivery elements connected to the retainer for therapeutic treatment that may deliver an antimicrobial solution; a number of pieces of tubing having a first end connected to a antimicrobial solution reservoir and a second end connected to a number of antimicrobial solution delivery elements; a number of fiber optic cables having a first end connected to a light source; and a number of light terminations rigidly connected to the retainer for therapeutic treatment and connected to the second end of the fiber optic cable.
