COMPRESSION GARMENT
20210045930 · 2021-02-18 ·

A compression garment for providing supplementary kinesiology therapy through fastened one or more kinesiological support members having properties for providing heat and pressure in addition to the compression pressure provided by one or more elastic layers of the compression garment. The compression garment may be a compression sleeve or wrap having various strategic patterns with respect to the one or more kinesiological support members for targeting particular muscles.

Compression braces with removable hot/cold packs

A knee brace includes: an elastic sleeve; first and second stiffening members coupled together to crisscross to form an X-shape, and secured to a medial side of the sleeve; third and fourth stiffening members similarly coupled together and secured to a lateral side of the sleeve; and a plurality of slits in the sleeve into a corresponding pockets that receive a thermal pack. The thermal packs and pockets are triangular shaped, with two triangular-shaped pockets on the medial side of the sleeve, and two on the lateral side, each disposed in a respective triangular shape positioned between the x-shape of the stiffening members. The pairs of stiffening members are either: fixedly coupled together to store energy when the user bends at the knee, and to expend the stored energy to assist in lifting the user upward; or pivotally coupled together to pivot according to movements of the wearer's knee joint.

Integrated cold therapy-compression therapy assembly and associated treatment protocols

A single integrated cold therapy-compression therapy assembly combines a cold therapy module designed to apply cold therapy in a continuous mode and a compression therapy module designed to apply compression therapy in an intermittent mode to select body parts of a user in accordance with associated integrated therapeutic treatment protocols. The body part selected for therapy is dependent on the particular needs of the user.

DEFORMABLE THERMAL PACK

A thermal pack including: a pouch having a thermal material; covers for covering the pouch. The covers having field portions and first and second bonding edges peripherally outside the first and second field portions. A bendable and deformable support ring formed of sheet metal is disposed between the first and second bonding edges. The pouch is retained between the first and second covers by: at least indirect bonding of a first inner surface of the first bonding edge to a first side surface of the support ring and at least indirect bonding of a second inner surface of the second bonding edge to a second side surface of the support ring; and/or sewing an inner periphery of the first bonding edge to an inner periphery of the second bonding edge and/or an outer periphery of the first bonding edge to an outer periphery of the second bonding edge.

Wearable Therapy System

A wearable therapy system comprises a therapy pack, a therapy pack holder including a body and a first fastener system, the body being configured to removably receive the therapy pack, and a therapy garment configured to be worn by a user and comprising at least one attachment area including a second fastener system. The therapy pack holder is removably attachable to the attachment area in a plurality of positions with the first fastener system engaging the second fastener system to secure the therapy pack in relation to the therapy garment. The system of the present disclosure can also include one or more compression sleeves and/or therapeutic wraps configured to be worn by the user that comprise fastener systems configured to removably accept one or more of the therapy packs, pads, and holders in a plurality of positions relative to the one or more compression sleeves.

Systems and methods for providing temperature-controlled therapy
10849785 · 2020-12-01 · ·

Systems and methods provide air or gas-based temperature-controlled medical devices. The systems and methods may be applied to provide therapy to a patient suffering orthopedic or other injuries. Air or other gas is temperature-controlled and adjusted to meet a patient's physical needs and delivered the patient therapy site through a temperature regulated system including a therapeutic orthopedic wrap. Feedback mechanisms allow the caregiver or the patient to adjust the temperature of the gas. Other fluids may also be used. The systems and methods permit use of electrotherapy for enhanced therapy and injury recovery.

METHODS AND COMPOSITIONS FOR TREATMENT OF PAIN USING CAPSAICIN
20200360314 · 2020-11-19 ·

The invention provides methods and compositions for treatment of pain, such as joint pain, using capsaicin in a procedure that attenuates transient burning sensation experienced by patients due to capsaicin administration. The methods desirably provide relief from joint pain, such as osteoarthritic knee joint pain, for an extended duration, such as at least about 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, or 1 year. To attenuate the adverse side effect of a transient burning sensation caused by capsaicin-induced neuronal excitation, the methods utilize a cooling article, such as a material wrap cooled via a circulating fluid, to reduce the temperature of tissue to be exposed to capsaicin to within a certain range for certain durations of time, optionally in combination with administering a local anesthetic agent, resulting in the substantial reduction or even elimination of transient burning sensation caused by capsaicin.
