Vasodilation assembly

The invention relates to a vasodilation assembly for facilitating intravenous cannulation. The assembly comprises: (i) a flexible plastics sleeve (10); (ii) a heated air supply; and (iii) a conduit for conveying heated air from the air supply into the flexible plastics sleeve. The sleeve comprises an air inlet opening (12) for coupling to the conduit, and an opening (14) for accepting an appendage of a patient. The flexible plastics sleeve (10) is of a double-walled construction comprising transparent inner and outer sleeve layers (16, 18).

ICE CLAMP
20200060871 · 2020-02-27 ·

An ice clamp removably secures a cold pack to various areas of a user's body and includes first and second opposing clamp members that are pivotally moveable relative to one another. Each of the clamp members includes a jaw, a handle extending from the jaw, and at least one hinge member for allowing hinged movement of the clamp members relative to one another whereby the jaws are moved between a relaxed, closed position and an open position against the force of a spring. A cold pack is removably attachable to the clamp members, and against inner concave surfaces of the opposing jaws, so that when the ice clamp is secured to a desired area of the user's body, the cold pack is held securely against the desired area to administer ice therapy. In a preferred embodiment, the cold pack includes an outer fabric comfort sleeve.

Thermally assisted pulsed electro-magnetic field stimulation apparatus and method for treatment of osteoarthritis of the knee

A method, apparatus and a system for thermally-assisted pulsed electromagnetic field stimulation for treatment of osteoarthritis in the knee are disclosed. A multi-coil applicator is adapted for positioning around the knee. A first coil is positioned on the top of the knee and provides electric field stimulation in the plane of the patella to stimulate the patella cartilage. Second and third coils are rectangular coils wrapped up below and above the knee respectively. The coils in the wrapped position generate a magnetic field along the knee axis and provide high amplitude of the electric field stimulation of the femoral and tibial cartilages in the plane of tibial plateau. Resistive heaters and free wheel diodes can be provided to the applicator to supply uniform thermal stimulation around the knee joint.

CIRCULATION THERAPY ASSEMBLY
20190223544 · 2019-07-25 ·

A circulation therapy assembly includes a pair of boots that is each of the boots worn on one of a pair of legs. Each of the boots is comprised of a thermally insulating material and each of the boots has a height of at least 55.0 cm. Thus, each of the boots extends above a knee on the legs when the boots are worn. A pair of inserts is provided and each of the inserts is removably positioned within an associated one of the boots. Each of the inserts surrounds the associated leg and a corresponding foot when the boots are worn. Moreover, each of the inserts is comprised of a thermally conductive material. A pair of heating units is each coupled to an associated one of the inserts and each of the heating units heats the associated insert when the heating units is turned on. In this way each of the heating units heats the associated leg when the boots are worn thereby enhancing blood circulation in the associated leg.
