COMPOSITIONS, TREATMENT SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR IMPROVED COOLING OF LIPID-RICH TISSUE
Compositions and formulations for use with devices and systems that enable tissue cooling, such as cryotherapy applications, for alteration and reduction of adipose tissue are described. Aspects of the technology are further directed to methods, compositions and devices that provide protection of non-targeted cells (e.g., non-lipid-rich cells) from freeze damage during dermatological and related aesthetic procedures that require sustained exposure to cold temperatures. Further aspects of the technology include systems for enhancing sustained and/or replenishing release of cryoprotectant to a treatment site prior to and during cooling applications.
Modifying humidity to glabrous tissue for the treatment of migraine and other conditions
Systems and methods for improving or preventing a condition, such as the treatment of pain syndromes and migraine headaches are disclosed. A method for treating pain can include one or more of the steps including identifying a region of the patient comprising glabrous tissue; positioning the region of the patient comprising glabrous tissue into an enclosed chamber; adjusting the relative humidity of the enclosed chamber sufficient to create a physiologic effect. The method need not involve altering the temperature within the enclosed chamber.
DEVICES, METHODS, AND SYSTEMS FOR THE TREATMENT AND/OR MONITORING OF DAMAGED TISSUE
Disclosed are methods, devices, and systems for treatment of an abnormal wound healing response. The methods, devices, and systems can be used to treat solid ulcerated tissue, such as diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs), arthritic tissue, muscle soreness, joint pain, varicose veins, obesity, and peripheral artery disease. Additionally, the methods, devices, and systems can promote the healing of xenograft, allograft, autograft, or engineered tissue following reconstruction surgery. The methods, devices, and systems include the ability to determine an optimal set of pulse parameters that are specific to wound healing. In embodiments, the methods, devices, and systems include components for guiding the user on electrode placement based on anatomical or electrical measurements, delivering a custom series of electric pulses, applying heat, and using feedback from physiologic measurements to control the device.
MODIFYING HUMIDITY AND CONVECTION TO GLABROUS TISSUE TO CONTROL METABOLISM
Systems and methods for affecting metabolism, such as the treatment of metabolic syndrome are disclosed. A method for treating metabolic syndrome can include one or more of the steps including identifying a region of the patient comprising glabrous tissue; positioning the region of the patient comprising glabrous tissue into an enclosed chamber; adjusting the relative humidity of the enclosed chamber sufficient to create a physiologic metabolic effect; and activating a convection fan within the chamber to promote heat transfer from the glabrous tissue. The method need not involve altering the temperature within the enclosed chamber.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR THERMAL BLOCKADE OF NERVES
Embodiments disclosed include systems, methods, and apparatuses, directed to administering thermal neural modulation to mammalian tissue to control nerve conduction. Embodiments disclosed include an apparatus comprising a thermal energy source, a first heat exchanger coupled to the thermal energy source and configured to receive thermal energy therefrom, a thermal applicator configured to be disposed and secured to the anatomy of a subject having a nerve therein, in contact with the skin on the anatomy and overlying a treatment portion of the nerve, the thermal applicator configured to transfer thermal energy to the skin to raise the temperature of the treatment portion of the nerve above a physiologic temperature, a second heat exchanger is coupled to the thermal applicator and configured to transfer thermal energy thereto, and a fluid conduit having a first portion coupled to the first heat exchanger and a second portion coupled to the second heat exchanger. The fluid conduit is configured to have fluid circulated therethrough to convey thermal energy from the thermal energy source via the first heat exchanger and to the thermal applicator via the second energy at a temperature.
Cold and Hot Thermal Treatment Device
The present disclosure relates to a cold and hot thermal treatment device. Hot heat and cold heat are produced by a heat production unit and are periodically and repeatedly transferred to a heat transfer unit that is in contact with a human body such that a temperature is not suddenly changed but is gradually changed. Thus, the device may be used when diagnosing whether vascular reactivity is maintained in corresponding hands and feet, may generate a temperature stimulus, and may repeatedly perform the temperature stimulus, thereby improving the vascular reactivity.
EQUINE CRYOTHERAPY DUAL COMPARTMENT BOOT
An equine cryotherapy overleg device that encircles the lower limb of a subject horse and provides cryotherapy to the subject horse. The one-piece device includes upper and lower fasteners, a pastern area that will hold ice and ice water and a vertical zipper. The arrangement of the hoof cover, and hoof slipper allow for free movement of the subject horse and for a thermal fluid to contain ice and prevent the ice from migrating under the subject horse hoof.
Intelligent temperature controller for shoes and intelligent temperature controlling shoe and intelligent temperature controlling method thereof
An intelligent temperature controller for shoes includes a master chip, a heating unit, a temperature detecting unit detecting a current temperature of the shoes, a power source and a charging circuit connected with the power source, wherein the master chip is respectively and electrically connected with the heating unit, the temperature detecting unit and the power source, wherein the master chip controls the power source to supply power to the heating unit, wherein the master chip is communicated with an electric device to control the temperature of the shoes and provides operating states feedback to the electric device.
STIMULUS METHOD FOR EYE TREATMENT
A method for an eye treatment includes the steps of: providing guide elements made on the specific sites of a subject which comprise (1) a site that intersects a perpendicular line of medial malleolus and an extension line of medial margin on OS metatasale primam 1 and 2, (2) a pupil of a left or right eye, (3) ST 36 point of a left or right leg, and (4) SP point; and controlling a temperature of the guide elements to be a range from 40 to 50±5° C., thereby applying the thermal stimulus to the respective specific sites to increase a blood flow by 60% or more and promote secretion of a growth hormone in the subject.
Pedometer with accelerometer and foot motion distinguishing method
A method for distinguishing a foot motion of a user by placing a pedometer at a foot of a user includes the steps of collecting an accelerating data from an accelerometer in a real time manner; filtering the accelerating data via a smoothing filter and a Kalman filter; generating a step data that represents number of steps taken by the user in response to the accelerating data through the smoothing filter; generating an activity data that represents a foot motion of the user in response to the accelerating data through the Kalman filter; and combining the step data and the activity data to form a resulted data that distinguishes the foot motion with step count of the user.
