Interconnect Drive System

An interconnect drive system for an aircraft has a driveline and clutch control system. The driveline comprises a shaft for each propulsion assembly, each shaft for transferring torque to and from the associated propulsion assembly, and a clutch operably coupling the shafts and configured for selective engagement. The clutch is capable of transferring a first amount of torque between the shafts while engaged and a second amount of torque between the shafts while disengaged. The system also has a clutch control system, comprising a computer operably connected to the clutch for controlling operation of the clutch and sensors for sensing torque applied to the driveline, output from the sensors being communicated to the computer. The computer commands operation of the clutch in response to the output from the sensors, the clutch being commanded to disengage to relieve a transient torque imbalance in the driveline.

A noise cancelation system for an unmanned aerial vehicle may have an audio capture module, a metadata module and a filter. The audio capture module may be configured to receive an audio signal captured from a microphone, e.g., on a camera. The metadata module may be configured to retrieve noise information associated with noise generating components operating on the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The filter may be configured to receive the audio signal and noise information from the audio capture module. The filter also may be configured to retrieve a baseline profile from a database based on the noise information. The baseline profile includes noise parameter to filter out audio frequencies from the audio signal corresponding to the noise generating component. The filter may generate a filtered audio signal for output.

Noise cancellation system

Active noise cancellation may be provided by a variety of systems, methods and techniques. General aspects, for example, include an active noise cancellation system, a controller for an active noise cancellation system, and/or a method of generating an anti-noise signal. In one example aspect, an active noise cancellation system for an aircraft In-flight entertainment system may include at least one input device, a processing means, and an output. The input device may be associated with a seat on the aircraft and adapted to receive an input representative of an ambient noise in the vicinity of the seat. The processing means may be adapted to process the input to produce an output signal adapted to reduce the ambient noise in volume associated with the seat. The output may be adapted to transmit an output signal to at least one driver, which is adapted to transmit the output signal to a user.

Dynamic aircraft routing

A request for transport services that identifies a rider, an origin, and a destination is received from a client device. Eligibility of the request to be serviced by a vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft is determined based on the origin and the destination. A transportation system determines a first and a second hub for a leg of the transport request serviced by the VTOL aircraft and calculates a set of candidate routes from the first hub to the second hub. A provisioned route is selected from among the set of candidate routes based on network and environmental parameters and objectives including pre-determined acceptable noise levels, weather, and the presence and planned routes of other VTOL aircrafts along each of the candidate routes.

An assembly constituting an acoustically absorbent material and including a first panel, a second panel pierced with holes, an intermediate panel pierced with through-holes and arranged between the first panel and the second panel, a first structure between the first panel and the intermediate panel and including first cages, a second structure between the second panel and the intermediate panel and including second cages, and for each through-hole of the intermediate panel, a tube opening out at the two ends thereof, where one of the ends of the tube is fixed to the intermediate panel at the through-hole, and where the other end of the tube is accommodated inside a first cage. Such an assembly makes it possible to obtain broad-band attenuation and is easy to manufacture.

Noise reduction device

A noise reduction device includes a plurality of noise microphones, noise controller, and control speakers. Noise controller generates a control-sound signal to reduce a noise, at a control center of a control space, with the noise being detected by the plurality of noise microphones. Noise microphone disposed at a shorter distance from the control center than distance “d” indicated by Relational Expression (1) is smaller in number than noise microphones disposed at longer distances than distance “d” where “λ” is a wavelength corresponding to control upper-limit frequency “f” in noise microphones, “d0” is a distance from the control center to control speakers, “t” is a control delay time in control speakers, and “v” is a sound speed.

An advanced acoustic awareness platform configured to classify environmental sounds. The advanced acoustic awareness platform comprises an audio signal acquisition sensor array and one or more processors programmed to augment the audio signal, extract features for the audio signal, visualize, and classify the signal using one or more labels. In at least one embodiment, the signal is classified based on transfer learning associated with a pretrained machine learning model.

Noise reduction device

A noise reduction device includes a processor that converts a noise signal collected by a microphone disposed in a control space into a noise signal in a frequency domain, a storage that stores the converted noise signal in the frequency domain as a reference signal, and a signal generator that generates a noise reduction signal for reducing the noise signal collected by the microphone at a control position of the control space. The processor determines whether or not the noise signal is non-stationary noise based on a frequency characteristic of the converted noise signal in the frequency domain and a frequency characteristic of the reference signal. When it is determined that the noise signal is the non-stationary noise, the processor controls the signal generator so as to cancel generation of the noise reduction signal.

Unmanned aircraft and information processing method

An unmanned aircraft includes: rotor blades; a duct that shrouds the rotor blades and through which airflow generated by rotation of the rotor blades passes; and a processor that controls rotation of the rotor blades. The height to width ratio of an inner space of the duct in which the rotor blades are shrouded is at least 0.5.
