Heat generator
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a heat generator that contains a volatile component and in which the volatile component is stably maintained during storage, the volatile component is prevented from adhering to a heat-generating section, and it is possible to achieve an excellent warming effect during use. This heat generator comprises a heat-generating section (1), an accommodation body (2) for accommodating the heat-generating section (1), an adhesive layer (3) provided to an attachment surface side of the accommodation body (2), and a release sheet (4) provided to the attachment surface side of the adhesive layer (3). As a result of including a volatile component in the adhesive layer (3) and respectively providing gas barrier layers (211), (41) to a first packaging material (21) constituting the attachment surface side of the accommodation body (2) and to the release sheet (4), it is possible to stably maintain the volatile component within the adhesive layer (3) during storage. It is thereby possible to prevent the volatile component from adhering to the heat-generating section (1) during storage and to achieve an excellent warming effect during use.
System for treating unwanted tissue using heat and heat activated drugs
The invention can selectively heat a diseased area in the lung while minimizing heating to the healthy area and surrounding tissue. This is done by exposing the lung to an electromagnetic field causing dielectric or eddy current heating. The invention is particularly useful for treating emphysema as the diseased areas have reduced blood flow. The diseased area will heat up rapidly while the healthy tissue will be cooled by the blood flow. This is particularly effective for treating emphysema because of the low mass of the lungs and the high blood flow. To avoid heating of surrounding organs the direction of the electromagnetic energy is switched in a way it always passes through lungs but only intermittently passes through adjacent organs. If heat activated drugs are present in the lungs, they are selectively released in the heated tissue.
INTEGRATED HEATER ON FACIAL SKINCARE MASK
A package comprises a mask; and an inactive heater, wherein the mask includes at least one product layer having infused thereon at least one active, and wherein the inactive heater is located in or in proximity to the mask to transfer heat to the mask upon activation of the heater.
Dry eye treatment systems
Dry eye treatment apparatus and methods are described herein which generally comprise a patch or strip affixed to the skin of the upper and/or lower eyelids to deliver heat or other forms of energy, pressure, drugs, moisture, etc. (alone or in combination) to the one or more meibomian glands contained within the underlying skin. The treatment strip or strips include one or more strips configured to adhere to an underlying region of skin in proximity to one or both eyes of a subject such that the one or more strips allow for the subject to blink naturally without restriction from the one or more patches. Moreover, the one or more strips may be configured to emit energy to the underlying region of skin and where the one or more strips are shaped to follow a location of one or more meibomiam glands contained within the underlying region of skin.
Hot and/or Cold Pad
The invention relates to a heating and/or cooling device (10) for delivering heating and/or cooling energy to the body of a living being (28). The heating and/or cooling device (10) comprises a heating and/or cooling pad (12) which can be connected to the body of the person (28). The heating and/or cooling pad has an upper face (122) and a lower face (121), and an adhesive surface (1210) is provided on the lower face (121) for attaching the heating and/or cooling pad (12) to the surface of the skin of the person (28). The heating and/or cooling pad comprises at least one heating and/or cooling element (26) by means of which electrical energy output by an electrical energy source (22) can be converted into heating and/or cooling energy. The heating and/or cooling device (10) further comprises a control unit (14) which is provided for fixedly or detachably accommodating the energy source (22) and has a signal processor (16). Furthermore, the control unit (14) is provided for outputting an open-loop and/or closed-loop control signal, by means of which the energy output from the energy source (22) to the heating and/or cooling element (26) can be controlled. The heating and/or cooling pad (12) and the control unit (14) can be electrically and mechanically connected to one another by at least one electrical connector (18a, 18b), via which the electrical energy can be transmitted to the heating and/or cooling element (26), and by at least one mechanical and/or magnetic connector (20a, 20b).
PERINEAL HEATING DEVICE
A perineal heating pad includes a central portion and two opposing end portions. The central portion includes a heating element disposed on or within the heating pad and the opposing ends may include one or more tabs extending outward from the central portion. A non-stick adhesive is used to secure the heating pad to the perineal body tissue of the patient and a controller supplies heat to the heating element and maintains the perineal tissue of a patient at a desired temperature.
STRETCHABLE HEATING TAPE
The present disclosure is directed to a heating mechanism including stretchable heating tape and a rechargeable electrical power source. The stretchable heating tape can be worn to provide heat and pressure relief on different parts of a user's body anisotropically. On one side of such stretchable tape lies a single-layer fabric in which non-stretchable heating wire is at least partially weaved with knitted stretchable yarns to make a stretchable fabric that can stretch up to 100%. On the other side of the stretchable tape lies an adhesive material that provides tension at various levels of stretch up to 100% and can sustain multiple hours on direct skin applications. Such stretchable fabric can have a connector coming from one end or both ends which provides a path for power through an inter-connecting cable between the stretchable tape and a controller which includes the power source and its control circuitry.
