Passive Nose Warming Apparatus and Safeguard
20210068483 · 2021-03-11 ·

A self-adhering, moldable and yet semi-rigid safeguard for the nose that does not require straps or bands, which also simultaneously protects a person's nose from inclement weather.

The apparatus is made of low temperature moldable plastic enclosed between two layers of polychloroprene with a temporary adhesive applied to the back of the attachment so that it may adhere to a person's nose.

The low temperature moldable plastic provides further adherence to a person's nose with its ability to be custom form fitted to a person's exact nose shape because of the safeguard's ability to be molded at warm temperatures.

The low temperature molded plastic then cools to become more rigid offering further protection.

A knee brace includes: an elastic sleeve; first and second stiffening members coupled together to crisscross to form an X-shape, and secured to a medial side of the sleeve; third and fourth stiffening members similarly coupled together and secured to a lateral side of the sleeve; and a plurality of slits in the sleeve into a corresponding pockets that receive a thermal pack. The thermal packs and pockets are triangular shaped, with two triangular-shaped pockets on the medial side of the sleeve, and two on the lateral side, each disposed in a respective triangular shape positioned between the x-shape of the stiffening members. The pairs of stiffening members are either: fixedly coupled together to store energy when the user bends at the knee, and to expend the stored energy to assist in lifting the user upward; or pivotally coupled together to pivot according to movements of the wearer's knee joint.

TREATMENT APPARATUS AND METHODS

A heating implement includes a sheet-shaped main body sheet having an exothermic element, and a projection part sheet provided on a surface on one side of the main body sheet; the projection part sheet has a projection part projecting toward the one side, where a profile of a relationship between a load and an amount of crush includes a first region in which the amount of crush increases as the load increases, and a second region located on a side in which a value on a first axis is larger than that in the first region and having a larger increase rate of the amount of crush associated with increase in the load than the first region; and a range of the second region is wider than that of the first region in a direction of the first axis.

Facial Cold Compress Assembly
20210007886 · 2021-01-14 ·

A facial cold compress assembly for reducing facial swelling includes a strip that has a pair of pouches each being integrated into the strip. The strip is wearable on a user's face having the strip extending across the user's nose and beneath each of the user's eyes. In this way the strip is aligned with the user's nasal pathways. The strip is comprised of a thermally conductive material such that the strip is in thermal communication with the user's face when the strip is worn. An adhesive layer is bonded to the strip to retain the strip on the user's face. A pair of thermal packs is each removably positionable into a respective one of the pouches. Each of the thermal packs is positionable in a refrigerator for chilling and subsequently reducing swelling on the user's face and reduce congestion in the user's nasal pathways when the strip is worn.
