The wiring thin plate includes an aerial wiring portion including wiring traces and passing over an airspace, aerial base layers provided at the respective wiring traces in the aerial wiring portion and being apart from each other, and an aerial cover layer provided in the aerial wiring portion and spanning from the wiring traces of the aerial wiring portion through the aerial base layers to interspaces between adjacent aerial base layers of said aerial base layers.

A gimbal assembly includes a flex circuit with a first end extending along a loadbeam and second end having bond pads configured to be electrically coupled to a slider. The gimbal assembly includes a metallic layer with a fixed portion fixably attached to the loadbeam and a movable portion fixably attachable to the slider. The movable portion has at least one extension arm coupled to and providing support to the second end of the flex circuit. First and second linear actuators are coupled between the fixed portion and the movable portion. The first and second linear actuators cause a rotation of the slider in response to an electric signal.

According to one embodiment, a disk device includes a recording medium, a first magnetic head, a first wiring member, a flexible printed circuit board, and a wire. The first wiring member is electrically connected to the first magnetic head. The flexible printed circuit board includes a surface, a first fixed part fixed to a first component, and a second fixed part fixed to a second component, and is electrically connected to the first magnetic head through the first wiring member. The wire on the flexible printed circuit board extends along the surface such that the wire extends between the first fixed part and the second fixed part in a direction intersecting at an angle of larger than 45 degrees and not larger than 90 degrees with an extending direction of a virtual shortest line that connects the first fixed part to the second fixed part along the surface.

The first terminal includes a narrow part having a first width in a first direction and including a center of the first terminal, and a wide part having a second width in the first direction greater than the first width. The wide part and the narrow part are arranged in a second direction intersecting the first direction. The first bump has, at the center, a first height from a bottom surface of the first terminal. The first height is greater than the first width.

According to one embodiment, a magnetic recording and reproducing device includes a magnetic recording medium, a magnetic head, and a processor. The magnetic head includes a first reproducing element portion and a second reproducing element portion. The processor is configured to acquire a first signal and a second signal, and to output an output signal according to either one of the first signal and the second signal. The first signal is obtained by reproducing information recorded on a first recording region by the first reproducing element portion. The second signal is obtained by reproducing the information recorded on the first recording region by the second reproducing element portion.

The wiring member includes a head installation region in which the magnetic head is mounted, and an etched region which is at least partly located in the head installation region and is opposed to an end portion of the head slider at the inflow end thereof to form a gap between the end portion and the etched region.

A suspension for a disk device comprises a load beam, a flexure and a damper member. The flexure overlaps the load beam, and comprises a tongue on which a slider is mounted and an outrigger connected to the tongue. The damper member is attached to the load beam. The outrigger comprises an arm opposing the load beam, and a folded portion extending from the arm and folded back in a thickness direction of the arm. Further, the folded portion is attached to the damper member.

A disk device according to one embodiment includes a recording medium, a magnetic head, a wiring member, and a flexible printed circuit board. The magnetic head is configured to read/write information from/to the recording medium. The wiring member includes a plurality of first terminals, and a plurality of first wires that electrically connect the magnetic head to the first terminals. The flexible printed circuit board includes a surface, a plurality of second terminals located on the surface to be connected to the first terminals by means of a conductive adhesive, and a ground plane spaced apart from the second terminals in a direction along the surface.

The adhesive is in contact with an inner surface of the groove and includes an adhesive portion attaching the electronic component to the surface. A first portion in the flexure is provided in a position apart from the electronic component. A second portion in the flexure is positioned closer to the adhesive portion than the first portion. A distance between the first wiring and the second wiring is larger than that in the first portion.

The trace member includes a metal plate, and a multilayered member on the metal plate. The multilayered member includes a first insulating layer, a conductive layer stacked on the first insulating layer, a second insulating layer stacked on the conductive layer. The multilayered member includes a mount portion on which the drive element is mounted, and a branching portion arranged along the mount portion with a gap therebetween. At least one portion of the branching portion is formed into a thin portion having a thickness less than other portions of the multilayered member.
