SYSTEM FOR REGULATING BODY TEMPERATURE OF A SUBJECT
Disclosed is a system for regulating body temperature of a subject. The system includes: one or more sensors for monitoring environmental and/or physiological parameters; a multi-layered garment having a plurality of thermoelectric elements distributed throughout the multi-layered garment; a controller for receiving input from the one or more sensors and connected to the plurality of thermoelectric elements to systemically control the thermoelectric elements based on the environmental and/physiological parameters; and a battery for providing power to the one or more sensors, the thermoelectric elements, the controller or a combination of any of these. The system can improve worker safety and comfort in an energy efficient manner.
Low humidity device for body joint therapy
A self-contained appliance for passive therapy of arthritis discomfort in a bone joint, including a bone joint encompassing element formed of a moisture impermeable barrier material and defining a therapy region about one or more bone joints, and a desiccative agent disposed within the therapy region.
PORTABLE THERAPEUTIC SYSTEM USING HOT OR COLD TEMPERATURE
Disclosed is a system which employs a cooling or heating pad which is preferably a thin, flexible pad for placement at an intended area of the body. The pad includes a layer of highly conductive material which can be cooled or heated using a portable source of heat or cold material delivered to the conductive material by a delivery conduit. Valves can be included to regulate flow of the cooling or heating material from the source to the pad. The system can also include a dual-chambered canister for containing two different media for heating, cooling or for alternating heating and cooling the pad.
PERSONAL COOLING SYSTEM AND METHOD OF OPERATION
A personal cooling system for maintaining an individual at a preferred predetermined temperature in the outdoor environment of a venue, for an extended period of time, according to one embodiment includes a first cooling element comprising a phase change material (PCM) and at least one cooling station for providing any one of an additional one or more frozen cooling elements, each having a PCM, and at least one freezing medium for freezing any of said cooling elements. The cooling station is installed at the venue.
Portable, therapeutic electrical heating system
A portable electrical heating system includes a controller, a heat delivery mechanism that is releasably and reusably attachable directly to a user's skin, and an electrical connection between the two that allows for selectively engagement between the controller and heat delivery mechanism. The controller allows for the selection of a temperature setting for the heat delivery mechanism. The controller includes at least one signaling device to indicate the power and temperature setting. The heat delivery mechanism includes a heating element, and further includes an adhesive layer that allows for multiple uses of the heat delivery mechanism.
HEMORRHOID KIT
A kit for providing pain relief to a user suffering from rectal, anal, colon discomforts, infections or diseases is disclosed herein. The kit for providing pain relief to a user suffering from rectal, anal, colon discomforts, infections or diseases includes at least one cushion-device, at least one cold therapy-device and one or more medicaments. In a preferred embodiment, the kit includes cushioned seats, rectal plugs, underwear with pockets for holding ice-packs therein, lotions, and suppositories.
CEREBRAL PROTECTION SYSTEM
A cerebral protection system generally includes an array of cold packs, an insulating cover, and optionally a set of trays. The cold pack contains two reactive materials separated by a rupturable membrane. When the first reactive material and the second reactive material are mixed, an endothermic reaction occurs. The system can be used to induce hypothermia in selected regions of the brain when used. The system can be used to treat conditions including concussion, traumatic brain injury (TBI), heatstroke, cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest, anoxic brain injury, ischemic stroke, transient ischemic attack (TIA), or hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy.
Heat Transfer Vest with Hook and Loop Securement
The present invention comprises a heat transfer vest. The vest is configured to mount a plurality of heat transfer packs on its interior surface. In the preferred embodiments the appropriate portions of the interior surface are covered in a hook-compatible material. In these versions, the thermal transfer packs include one or more hook panels that are used to attach the packs to the interior surface.
System for positioning temperature control element
Described herein is a pouch or strap system for holding a temperature control element (i.e., hot/cold element). The system described herein may include multiple straps that may be retained and/or interconnected such that the system may position a temperature control element at various parts of the body. The system may include a central pouch encompassed by a first panel and a second panel, wherein the first panel has a higher thermal resistance than the thermal resistance of the second panel. The system may include a first couple of straps attached to and extending away from the central pouch, each of the first couple of straps including a single quick-release buckle component, and a second couple of straps attached to and extending away from the central pouch, wherein each strap of the second couple of straps includes two quick-release buckle components.
