TEMPERATURE MANAGEMENT AND PHASE CHANGE ENERGY SYSTEM FOR STORAGE AND THERAPEUTIC APPLICATIONS
This invention provides a flexible and dynamic energy storage and transfer device for safe storage and transport of temperature sensitive products and for therapeutic uses. The portable device includes interactive chambers containing energy receptor materials with thermal holding capacity for cooling and heating purposes. Various chambers may be included to provide varying temperature zones. According to yet another aspect of the invention, a secondary layer is used to respond to environmental temperatures including ambient and exhaustive storage temperatures to extend the energy exchange period and sustain a thermal therapeutic dose toward targeted area.
Temperature regulating pump system and attachment mechanisms thereof
A system that selectively controls temperature within a device such as a neck/head wrap is disclosed. The system can include a pump system having a reservoir that holds a liquid, an element that regulates temperature of the liquid within the reservoir; a pump that draws the liquid from the reservoir; and a distribution manifold attached to the pump hose that receives and distributes the liquid to at least two devices (e.g., cervical collars). The system is also equipped to be selectively monitored, for example, via a smartphone, tablet or computer.

Cervical collar
A cervical collar that facilitates therapeutic hypothermia is provided and includes a cooling device having a front portion and a back portion fixedly coupled to the front portion on one side and removably coupled to the front portion on an opposite side. A fastening device removably couples the back portion to the front portion on the opposite side. The cooling device induces hypothermia in at least a portion of a patient. A sensor is provided that measures a physical characteristic of the patient.
