Elastomeric Article

An accelerator-free elastomeric formulation comprising base polymers, crosslinkers, stabilizers, an activator, an antioxidant, a pigment, a wax, an antifoam and a pH adjuster. A method of preparing an accelerator-free elastomeric formulation, comprising the steps of mixing Base polymer A with Crosslinker A to produce mixture A, adding while stirring Stabilizer A, Crosslinker B, an activator, an antioxidant, a pigment, a wax and an antifoam one after another with no particular order and followed by a pH adjuster into the mixture A to produce mixture B, adding Base polymer B and Stabilizer B one after another with no particular order into the mixture B to produce an accelerator-free elastomeric formulation and allowing the accelerator-free elastomeric formulation to mature.

Glove with differently textured fingertip regions

An ambidextrous or hand-specific glove including a wrist region, a palm region, and a digit region. The glove may be fabricated of nitrile rubber that is free of or essentially free of zinc, sulfur and accelerators to reduce allergic reactions in populations required to frequently wear protective gloves. A band region that partially or fully encircles a user's finger knuckles may be provided for easier finger bending. Texturing may be provided on glove surfaces that are used to grip articles. The fingertip regions on the front surface of the index and middle finger regions may be un-textured or smooth to enable a user to take a patient's pulse. These fingertip regions may be of reduced or smaller diameter and circumference so as to pull the glove material tightly around the tips of the user's finger and thereby applying pressure thereto so that even a faint pulse in a patient may be detected.

According to one embodiment, a coagulant comprising calcium nitrate and an antimicrobial agent is disclosed. The coagulant may be used in the molding process to releasably bond the substrate material to the mold and to bond to the antimicrobial to the substrate material.

Method and apparatus for manufacturing a silica gel glove

The method comprises of placing the palm side of a glove mold facing up, and raising the fingers portion of glove mold up, in such a way that the glove mold is tilting up at 15-45 in relative to horizontal position. The first pouring process is carried out by pouring silica gel liquid on the fingers portion of glove mold. Then adjust the glove mold to horizontal position, and rotate the glove mold by using its length as axis. Continue pouring silica gel liquid on the glove mold surface to carry out second pouring process. Let the silica gel liquid to be coated on the whole glove mold surface forming a semi-finished glove. Upon completion, let the glove mold to go through a dripping procedure for dripping treatment. After the dripping treatment, carry out vulcanization and cooling to obtain the corresponding silica gel glove.

METHODS AND TEST KITS FOR ASSESSING HAND HYGIENE

Methods and test kits are provided for assessing effectiveness of an individual's hand cleansing technique. One method includes donning a glove on one hand and another glove on the other, which then are engaged for a desired period of time. The gloves are removed and the hands cleansed. Thereafter, a third glove is donned on one hand and a fourth glove on the other, which again are engaged. Alternatively or additionally, at least one fingertip on one hand optionally can be swabbed with a swab device to collect a sample from the fingertip, then the hands cleansed. At least one cleansed fingertip can be swabbed with a swab device to collect a sample. The gloves and/or test swab(s) can be sent to a lab and tested for a microbe presence to assesses effectiveness of an individual's hand cleansing technique. Kits can be provided to aid in carrying out said methods.

COATING COMPOSITION FOR SKIN-CONTACTING SURFACE OF ELASTOMERIC ARTICLES AND ARTICLES CONTAINING THE SAME

The invention described herein relates to a therapeutic, moisturizing coating composition for elastomeric articles which is applied directly onto the skin-contacting surface of the article as part of the manufacturing process. The coating composition is thermally stable and subsequently hydrates when contacted with a moisturized skin surface to convert into a liquid lotion form during wearing of the article. The coating composition provides therapeutic benefits to the wearer's skin as a result of wearing the article, such as improved skin moisturization, softness of feel, improved skin elasticity and firmness, and reduced redness and irritation. The invention is particularly useful in medical gloves, including examination and surgical gloves.

LATEX COMPOSITION, SHAPED OBJECT OBTAINED THEREFROM, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAID SHAPED OBJECT

The polyisoprene-containing latex composition of the present it comprises the following components (a) and (b): (a) zinc ethylphenyldithiocarbarrote; and (b) 1-o-tolylbiguanide.

Thus, a molded article of the latex composition has high tensile strength. Further, even after the latex composition is stored for a longer period of time than before, a decrease in the tensile strength of the obtained molded article is suppressed.

Method of preparing polyurea resin composition, polyurea resin composition prepared thereby, and industrial glove coated with polyurea resin composition

A method of preparing polyurea resin composition comprises forming a prepolymer by mixing about 50 parts by weight to about 80 parts by weight of a polyol, about 4 parts by weight to about 8 parts by weight of a dispersant, and about 20 parts by weight to about 30 parts by weight of a first monomer containing an isocyanate group; forming a first composition by mixing the prepolymer with about 2 parts by weight to about 4 parts by weight of a second monomer containing an amine group; stirring and emulsifying the first composition with about 100 parts by weight to about 200 parts by weight of a solvent; and forming a second composition by further adding about 0.2 part by weight to about 1.5 parts by weight of the second monomer to the emulsified first composition and stirring the resulting composition.
