Ads are placed in a movie using a graphical interface that enables selecting of the ads from a set of ads, selecting frames of the movie for the ad, and selecting locations in the frames for the ads. Each of the ad and the movie can be a still image, a full motion video, an audio, a graphic or a combination thereof. An executable command may also be a part of the ad that is inserted, the command being selected for execution by a viewer of the ad when the movie is played to the viewer.

A reproduction device of the present technology includes: a readout unit configured to read out, from a recording medium recording a content, a file of a video stream and a file of reproduction management information used for reproducing the video stream and including monitor information indicating at least one of a color gamut and a dynamic range of luminance of a master monitor used for authoring the video stream; a decoding unit configured to decode the video stream; and an output unit configured to control an output of video data obtained by decoding the video stream and the monitor information included in the reproduction management information to a display device, depending on a performance of the display device to which the content is output. The present technology can be applied to a player that reproduces a content.
System and method for providing a secure content with revocable access
There is provided a method for use by a media player to provide access to a media content. The method comprises receiving a request from a user for playing the media content, prompting a user for an authorization code, receiving the authorization code from the user, transmitting the authorization code to an authentication server over a network, receiving a valid authentication message from the authentication server over the network if the authorization code is confirmed to be valid, transmitting the valid authentication message to a content server over the network, retrieving the media content from the content server over the network, wherein the media content incorporates an identification information associating the media content with the user.
