The recording medium also includes a subtitle stream of the standard-luminance range and a subtitle stream of the high-luminance range, which are used selectively in accordance with the playback environment. A playlist file includes a management region where playback control information relating to a main stream is stored, and includes an extended region. The management region stores first playback control information specifying playing of the video stream of the high-luminance range and the subtitle stream of the high-luminance range in combination. The extended region stores second playback control information specifying playing of the video stream of the standard-luminance range and the subtitle stream of the standard-luminance range in combination.

A mobile image capture device is provided that can include an image capture system operable to capture image frames and be configured to: provide a live video stream for display in a viewfinder portion of a user interface that depicts at least a portion of a current field of view of the image capture system; store a video segment from the live video stream in a temporary image buffer that includes a plurality of image frames captured by the image capture system; receive a user input that is directed to the viewfinder portion of the user interface that requests a rewind operation; and, in response to such user input, perform the rewind operation in the viewfinder portion of the user interface with respect to the video segment in which at least two of the image frames of the video segment can be provided for display in the user interface in a reverse chronological order.

The method may include selecting the ad from a set of ads, selecting a location within a frame of the transcoded video where the ad is to be placed, selecting frames of the transcoded video where the ad is to be placed, placing a placeholder in the transcoded video in the selected frames at the selected location, and storing the transcoded video in the proxy format. When the transcoded video is presented to a user on a display device, the selected ad is inserted in place of the placeholder.

A remote service system compiles the video file fragments into a video file fragment compilation for playback progression in tandem with playback of the audio file content based on the select start and end time of the video file fragments as associated with select audio file content segments of the audio file.
