Certain exemplary embodiments relate to entertainment systems that interact with users to provide access to media appropriate to and/or customized for a particular user using the entertainment system, the location at which the entertainment system is being accessed, and/or a predefined event. For example, in certain exemplary embodiments, an entertainment system in a location is configured to provide jukebox-related and entertainment system mediated services that are accessible from within and from the outside of the location, and provide (1) attract or flight media operations, (2) browsing services, and/or (3) search screens appropriate to and/or customized for a particular user using the entertainment system, the location at which the entertainment system is being accessed, and/or a predefined event. Such screens may be provided with a three-dimensional look-and-feel in certain exemplary embodiments.

One of the methods includes repeatedly receiving audio frames of a variable bit rate representation of an audio signal, wherein the variable bit rate representation comprises multiple portions that each represent one or more audio samples of the audio signal, and wherein at least two of the multiple portions have different respective bit rates. For each received audio frame, a position within the audio signal corresponding to the audio frame is determined. A location within an audio file corresponding to the position is determined. A hash value is computed from the determined position. A particular bucket of a plurality of buckets is identified according to the computed hash value. An indexed pair comprising the determined position and the determined location is generated and stored in association with the particular bucket.

A method of facilitating modified content play such that modification actions may be implemented during play of original content form. The modification actions may be specified by users to modify the original content form. The modification may be disseminated to subscribers or other users desiring similar content modifications. The DVD navigator includes: a menu panel module, configured to generate a first level in response to reception of an unload instruction; and a quick-unload module, configured to acquire the first level in a sleep state of the DVD navigator and process the first level to generate a second level and a pulse signal so as to control the DVD navigator to quickly unload a disc according to the second level in the sleep state. By the aforesaid way, the present disclosure can effectively reduce the unload time of the DVD navigator by controlling the DVD navigator to quickly unload a disc in the sleep state after receiving the unload instruction.

Systems and/or methods for use in connection with digital downloading jukeboxes are provided. Such systems and/or methods may be used to provide enhanced communications capabilities, e.g., to registered users of jukeboxes. In certain exemplary embodiments, users may become registered users directly at a jukebox. Registered users also may, in certain exemplary embodiments, receive coupons for free plays, import playlists from hardware devices and/or software applications, receive special pricing when playing certain instances of media, play playlists in whole or in part, create and/or manage playlists directly at a jukebox, establish and manage connections with other registered users, etc. Still further, in certain exemplary embodiments, one or more channels may be predefined and/or set up for a jukebox.

Provided are a method and device for adjusting playback progress of a video file. The method includes: receiving text information to be searched; searching, in a caption file of the video file, for caption content matching the text information, wherein the caption file is acquired from the video file or generated according to the video file; and determining playback time point corresponding to the caption content according to the found caption content, and adjusting the playback progress of the video file according to the playback time point. The present technology can be applied to a recording medium on which closed captions are recorded.

A method for video browsing includes comparing a current image frame with a previous image frame prior to the current image frame in a video to obtain target block information, identifying the current image frame as a keyframe if the target block information satisfies a predetermined condition, and playing the keyframe.

Techniques for providing an immersive storytelling experience using a plurality of storytelling devices. Each of the storytelling devices may be configured to perform one or more actions based on a current context of a story and in response to a stimulus event. The actions include at least one of an auditory and a visual effect. Embodiments also provide a controller device configured to manage a playback of the story, by adjusting the stimulus event and the effect of each of the plurality of storytelling devices, based on the current context of the story, thereby creating an interactive and immersive storytelling experience.
