Protective enclosure for data storage
11089704 · 2021-08-10 ·

A data storage enclosure for storing data on digital storage media has a lid that secures to a base. The enclosure has an upper insulating block that is located adjacent the lid and a lower insulating block that is located in the base. Each insulating block has a corresponding cover that overlays and protects its respective block. A storage unit has outer thermal management layers and a center layer located therebetween. The thermal management layers each contain a corresponding heat absorber that absorbs energy and changes from solid to liquid as the temperature of the storage unit begins to rise to excessive temperatures. The center layer contains a digital storage drive that is connected to a flexible cable that is connected to a sacrificial connector. When assembled, the insulating blocks and covers constrain and hold the storage unit and flexible cable.

Tool-free hard disk bracket

A tool-free hard disk bracket includes a base having abase body with a guide groove, and an engaging member connected to the base body. A frame includes a first side arm movably engaging with the engaging member. A handgrip is rotatably connected to one end of the base body. An operating unit includes an operating member releasably engaging with the handgrip and having a rotating shaft portion inserted rotatably and movably into the guide groove. The operating member is operated to rotate and release engagement with the handgrip, and is further operated to move along the guide groove toward the engaging member to push the engaging member to pivot and release engagement with the first side arm.

Compact portable data storage device

A portable data storage device includes at least one component that generates heat, an enclosure wall made of a first material and having a thermal conductivity and an exterior layer. The enclosure wall surrounds the at least one computer component and includes outer and inner boundaries. The exterior layer is made of a second material and has a thermal conductivity that is less than the thermal conductivity of the first material. The exterior layer is covers the outer boundary of the enclosure wall and includes an outer surface and an inner boundary. The outer boundary of the enclosure wall interfaces with the inner boundary of the exterior layer so that the outer surface of the exterior layer is in direct contact with the environment and the outer boundary of the enclosure wall is not. Heat is transferred to the environment at the outer surface of the exterior layer.

Protection systems for portable devices

A protection system for portable electronic devices may include a first impact absorbing panel, a second impact absorbing panel, and multiple spacers adapted to hold the panels apart to accommodate the thickness of a portable electronic device inserted between the panels. The system may include a first rigid shell having multiple attachment slots around its periphery, a first impact absorbing material on the inner side of the first shell, a second rigid shell having multiple attachment slots around its periphery, a second impact absorbing material on the inner side of the second shell, multiple spacers adapted to attach to the shells at the attachment slots, wherein the spacers hold the panels apart with their inner sides facing each other, thereby forming a protected space for the portable electronic devices between the shells and spacers.

Disk-shaped article shipping container

Disclosed herein is a container for shipping disk-shaped articles. The container comprises a cassette comprising a top opening, a plurality of dividers that define slots therebetween for receiving disk-shaped articles and constraining lateral movement of the disk-shaped articles, and pads for supporting the disk-shaped articles and constraining downward vertical movement of the disk-shaped articles. The container also comprises a top lid coupleable to the cassette over the top opening and comprising resiliently flexible fins. When the top lid is fully coupled to the cassette, the disk-shaped articles are supported on the pads, and the container is not shrink-wrapped, an unoccupied gap is defined between the resiliently flexible fins and the disk-shaped articles. When the top lid is fully coupled to the cassette, the disk-shaped articles are supported on the pads, and the container is shrink-wrapped, the resiliently flexible fins contact and are flexed against the disk-shaped articles.

ARTICLE OF CLOTHING WITH VIDEO RECORDING DEVICE SUPPORT

A video recording device, holster and article of clothing are disclosed to reliably and covertly provide for the capture of video, audio, and metadata, and perform other commands. The holster may be provided with a carrier that is, in turn, inserted into the holster. In one embodiment, the holster may be confirmed as being associated with the video recording device to authenticate a user, and establishes a docked position. Moreover, the video recording device may enter a mode of operation associated with using the video recording apparatus automatically when inserted into a holster.

Removable electronic device configured for one-hand operations

An electronic device which can be installed and removed in an apparatus using only one hand includes a base and a positioning member. A positioning opening is formed on a first side surface of the base, and a channel is formed in the base with one end connected to the positioning opening. The positioning member is located in the channel and has a holding groove exposed from a front surface of the base. The positioning member is movable along the channel between a released position and a compressed (mounted) position. In the released position, a locking portion of the positioning member extends out of the channel via the positioning opening, in the compressed position the locking portion is retracted into the channel.
