The disclosed technology provides a storage device enclosure system, which includes two hard disk drives (HDDs), a form factor compatible connector, the form factor compatible connector attached to the two HDDs and configured to connect the two HDDs to an external computing system, and a controller, the controller located on the form factor compatible connector and configured to performing data mirroring of data from the external computing system via a SATA port multiplier onto the two HDDs.

A disc drive (digital book data playback apparatus) includes a cabinet, a disc insertion part through which a digital book data disc is inserted into the cabinet, the disc insertion part being provided in a surface of the cabinet, and a guide groove formed in a surface of the cabinet, the guide groove having a starting end portion formed at an opening end and a terminating end portion continued to the disc insertion part, the guide groove being capable of receiving an outer peripheral edge of the digital book data disc to be inserted into the disc insertion part until the outer peripheral edge reaches a necessary depth.

In a modular approach to complement a miniature multimedia recorder with additional components, provision is made for a miniature multimedia recorder set comprising a main device and an additional device, the main device comprising at least a sensor such as an audio or audio/video acquisition unit, a processor, a memory and a battery, and the additional device comprising an optional circuit for the main device, said main device comprising a first housing and said additional device comprising a second housing, characterized in that the first housing or the second housing comprises at least one magnet cooperating with a metallic part on the second or the first housing, respectively, said first and second housing comprising guiding elements to ensure proper positioning between the first and the second housing.

A device carrier mechanism configured for attachment to an electronic device such as a hard disk drive includes a pair of rotatable handles interlocked at a common first pivot at a proximal end of each handle and a respective second pivot at a distal end, a pair of pin mechanisms each coupled at the second pivot of a respective handle and having a protruding latch pin, and a frame with which each pin mechanism is translatably coupled. Such a linkage system operates as an over-center mechanism, in a device handling state responsive to an upward handling force and with the latch pins in a retracted position within the frame, a neutral state with the latch pins in an extended position extending external to the frame, and a locked over-center state with the latch pins clamped in the extended position for locking into a data storage system.

A storage device includes a data drive and an enclosure. Shock absorber mounting holes on the enclosure can receive shock absorbers to connect to the data drive. In this way the data drive can be suspended from the enclosure. The enclosure can also have one or more protrusion. The one or more protrusion can be located such that when the data drive is placed thereon and each shock absorber is placed within a respective shock absorber mounting hole, each shock absorber is aligned with a mounting hole on the data drive. This can allow securement of the respective shock absorber to the respective data drive mounting hole to suspend the data drive. When the data drive is assembled within the enclosure, the one or more protrusion is sized such that an impact on the one or more protrusion by the data drive will destroy the one or more protrusion.

A video recording device, holster and article of clothing are disclosed to reliably and covertly provide for the capture of video, audio, and metadata, and perform other commands. The holster may be provided with a carrier that is, in turn, inserted into the holster. In one embodiment, the holster may be confirmed as being associated with the video recording device to authenticate a user, and establishes a docked position. Moreover, the video recording device may enter a mode of operation associated with using the video recording apparatus automatically when inserted into a holster.

An apparatus includes acoustic equipment and an enclosure to support the acoustic equipment. The enclosure includes a front cover member, a middle cover member, a back cover member, and a hinge to connect the front cover member to the back cover member. The hinge enables the movement of the front cover member and the back cover member between an open position and a closed position. The middle cover member is disposed between the front cover member and the back cover member, with the middle cover member being connected to the hinge to enable movement of the middle cover member and the back cover member between an open position and a closed position. The enclosure further includes a first latch configured to releasably secure the middle cover member to the back cover member, and a second latch configured to releasably secure the front cover member to the back cover member.

A heat sink can be used as part of a storage drive to perform multiple functions, both structural and thermodynamic. It can be used as a heat dissipating element and it can be used as the key mechanical mounting structure for storage drives, such as hard disk drives (HDD), and any circuit boards.

Product packaging for electronic media discs comprising a tray component with hub portions arranged on one or more opposing surfaces of the tray for storage of a plurality of discs. Each tray component includes one or more tab portions for quick and easy assembly and disassembly with other trays such that any number of trays may be interconnected together providing customizable product packing.
