Reducing laser diode temperature swings in heat-assisted magnetic recording (HAMR) using a slider-mounted heat sink
A heat-assisted magnetic recording apparatus may include a slider body, a submount, a laser diode assembly, and a first heat sink. The laser diode assembly comprises a plurality of lateral surfaces and a waveguide-facing surface. The submount is attached to the slider body by a first connector material. A first lateral surface of the laser diode assembly is in contact with the submount, and a second lateral surface of the laser diode assembly is in contact with the first heat sink. The first heat sink is in contact with a second connector material, which is in contact with the slider body to provide a heat flow path from the laser diode assembly to the slider body.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE
An electronic device includes a heat-dissipation bottom plate, a metal carrier disposed on the heat-dissipation bottom plate, a plurality of first thermally conductive pads assembled to the metal carrier, and a second thermally conductive pad that is assembled to the metal carrier. The metal carrier has an accommodating space configured to allow a hard disk drive (HDD) to be assembled therein. A memory module and at least one interface card are connected to the metal carrier through the first thermally conductive pads. The metal carrier or the HDD is connected to the heat-dissipation bottom plate through the second thermally conductive pad. The HDD, the memory module, and the at least one interface card are in cooperation with the first thermally conductive pads, the metal carrier, the second thermally conductive pad, and the heat-dissipation bottom plate for heat-dissipation.
Electronic module and heat dissipation assembly
An electronic module and a heat dissipation assembly thereof are provided. The electronic module includes an electronic component between a bottom of a heat fin and a bottom plate of a base, and a heat dissipation assembly including the heat fin, the base, and multiple fasteners. Each of two opposite sides of the bottom has a pair of first and second screw holes. The first screw holes are between the second screw holes. The base has a pair of side walls extending vertically from opposite sides of the bottom plate. Each side wall has a pair of third and fourth screw holes. The third screw holes correspond to the first screw holes and the fourth screw holes correspond to the second screw holes. The fasteners pass through the corresponding third and first screw holes or pass through the corresponding fourth and second screw holes.
