Recirculation filter for an electronic enclosure

A filter assembly for use in an electronic enclosure is provided. The filter assembly includes a highly permeable scrim that defines an elongate enclosure with an inlet at a first end and a closed second end, wherein an electrostatic filtration media is disposed within the elongate enclosure.

Electronic device filter door

An electronic device may include a door filter that is moveable to transition between a first position that enables visibility of a display located behind or underneath the filter and a second position that causes air entering the electronic device to pass through an air filter. In some embodiments, the door filter may be moveable or rotatable relative to a door filter frame that is removably coupled to an electronic device housing and located over an aperture in the electronic device housing. The door filter may include a first portion that couples to a second portion to secure or at least partially enclose the air filter. When the door filter frame is decoupled from the electronic device, a security door may close the aperture by engaging the same coupling points in the electronic device housing as previously engaged by the door filter frame.

Dual diffusion path filtering

An apparatus and associated method for enclosing an environment-sensitive component. An enclosure separates an interior environment inside the enclosure from an external environment outside the enclosure. The enclosure has an environmental control system that captures a contaminant from the internal environment to a filter via a first diffusion path, and captures the contaminant from the external environment to the same filter via a different second diffusion path, the diffusion paths providing substantially different flow resistances to fluids carrying the contaminants to the filter via the respective diffusion paths.

RECIRCULATION FILTER FOR AN ELECTRONIC ENCLOSURE

The technology disclosed herein relates to filter assemblies and methods of making filter assemblies. One filter assembly has a first sheet of filter media having a first perimeter region and a second sheet of filter media having a second perimeter region. The first perimeter region and the second perimeter region are bonded in a rim region. A plurality of adsorbent beads are disposed between the first sheet of filter media and the second sheet of filter media, and a substantial portion of the plurality of adsorbent beads are unbonded. Other embodiments are also described.

Particulate filter

Certain exemplary aspects of the present disclosure are directed towards an apparatus including a base deck forming a sealed cavity. A filter coupled to a surface of the base deck within the cavity filters particulate from a flow of gas in the cavity. The recirculation filter including a protrusion extending over a surface of a storage medium within the cavity that diverts gas from a surface of the storage medium toward the filter. A bypass channel, defined by a portion of the cavity and a portion of the filter, in conjunction with the protrusion forms a pressure differential that draws a first portion of the diverted gas through the filter by bypassing the filter with a second portion of the diverted gas.

FILTRATION, FILTER CHARACTERIZATION, AND METHODS AND APPARATUSES THEREFOR

Aspects of the disclosure are directed to apparatuses and methods involving filters and detection of operation thereof. As may be consistent with one or more embodiments, an apparatus includes a fixture having mechanical components that hold a filter. Gas flow componentry operates with the fixture to eject particles from the filter by subjecting the filter to gas flow. A flow metering circuit meters the gas flow, and a particulate counter detects the ejected particles.

One aspect of the technology relates to a recirculation filter. The recirculation filter has a first outer layer defining at least a portion of a first flow face of the recirculation filter, where the first flow face is configured to be positioned adjacent to a sensitive component in an electronics enclosure. A second outer layer defines at least a portion of a second flow face of the recirculation filter. A filter material layer is disposed between the first outer layer and the second outer layer. The filter material layer has a central region, wherein a substantial portion of the central region is offset from the first flow face of the recirculation filter. Other aspects are also described.
