Dual gasket for manufacturing of hermetically-sealed hard disk drive
A hard disk drive (HDD) includes an enclosure base, a first cover coupled to the base, and two separate gasket seals composed of different materials and configured to seal the interface between the first cover and the base. One gasket seal is composed of a material having a low permeability to helium or another lighter-than-air gas contained within the HDD, and the other gasket seal is composed of material having a low water vapor or moisture transmission. By using two separate independent gaskets which have different attributes, helium concentration is kept high and humidity is kept low during manufacturing testing, prior to affixing a hermetic second cover over the first cover, and degradation of HDD performance due to change of flying height is ultimately avoided.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE THAT INCLUDES A COMPOSITION THAT CAN ACTIVELY GENERATE AND RELEASE A GASEOUS OXIDIZING AGENT COMPONENT INTO AN INTERIOR SPACE OF THE ELECTRONIC DEVICE, AND RELATED SUBASSEMBLIES AND METHODS
The present disclosure relates to electronic devices that include a composition that actively generates a gaseous oxidizing agent component within the interior gas space of the electronic device. The present disclosure also involves related methods.
The present disclosure also relates to electronic devices that include a container that includes a gaseous oxidizing agent component in a manner that the gaseous oxidizing component can transfer from the container to the interior gas space of the electronic device. The present disclosure also involves related methods.

Read-write device for an archival data storage library
A magnetic read-write device includes a disk spindle on which disk media are rotatably mounted, an enclosure in which the spindle is housed, an opening/closing mechanism such as a cover configured for opening to provide access to the spindle and for closing to contain particles that may be generated during operation of the device, and a seal configured for sealing the enclosure when the opening/closing mechanism is closed. The device may further include a pre-loaded hinge coupling the cover with the enclosure, and a loading mechanism such as a spring coupled with the hinge and configured for biasing the cover to a closed position and for applying a sealing force to the seal at an interface of the cover and the enclosure. This type of device may be implemented for use in an archival data storage system library such as in a cleanroom storage system.

GAS REPLENISHMENT COMPONENT FOR AN ENCLOSURE
A gas replenishment component for an electronic enclosure is described. A main body defines a containment volume. The main body is sealed about the containment volume. A charging gas is contained in the containment volume. The containment volume has less than 5% N.sub.2. The main body defines a diffusive area that is permeable to the gas. A reversible seal obstructs the diffusive area.
WELDED BASE AND COVER FOR HARD DISK DRIVES
A hard disk drive includes a base deck with a floor portion and a side wall portion. The floor portion extends between an upper surface and a bottom surface, and the side wall portion extends from the floor portion. A top cover is coupled to the base deck and includes a ceiling portion and a wall portion. The hard disk drive includes a weld that directly couples the wall portion of the top cover to the floor portion of the base deck.
