Each of a set of closures that is coupled to a respective sleeve proximate to an associated slit is positioned to selectively close the associated slit.

In the second protective configuration the first surface of the teething cap having the teething elements is inverted upon itself thereby containing the outer surface having the teething elements of the teething cap within an interior of the teething cap in the second configuration.
