SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING DOSIMETRY IN OPHTHALMIC PHOTOMEDICINE
A system and method for treating ophthalmic target tissue, including a light source for generating a beam of light, a beam delivery system that includes a scanner for generating patterns, and a controller for controlling the light source and delivery system to create a dosimetry pattern of the light beam on the ophthalmic target tissue. One or more dosage parameters of the light beam vary within the dosimetry pattern, to create varying exposures on the target tissue. A visualization device observes lesions formed on the ophthalmic target tissue by the dosimetry pattern. The controller selects dosage parameters for the treatment beam based upon the lesions resulting from the dosimetry pattern, either automatically or in response to user input, so that a desired clinical effect is achieved by selecting the character of the lesions as determined by the dosimetry pattern lesions.
Steerable laser probe
A steerable laser probe may include a handle, an actuation structure, an optic fiber, and a housing tube. The housing tube may include a first housing tube portion having a first stiffness and a second housing tube portion having a second stiffness. The second stiffness may be greater than the first stiffness. The optic fiber may be disposed within the housing tube and within an inner bore of the handle. A compression of the actuation structure may be configured to gradually curve the optic fiber. A decompression of the actuation structure may be configured to gradually straighten the optic fiber.
Method to selectively permeabilize and/or fragmentize cells
A method to selectively permeabilize and/or fragmentize cells. A structure comprising a material and particles able to absorb electromagnetic radiation and cells are brought at close distance from each other. Part of the particles embedded in the structure are exposed to the free surface of the structure. The structure and, in particular, the particles in the structure are irradiated with electromagnetic radiation to selectively permeabilize and/or fragmentize the cells. Furthermore, the disclosure relates to a structure for use in a photothermal process to selectively permeabilize and/or fragmentize cells.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TREATING AN OCULAR DISORDER
Embodiments of the claimed invention are directed to the treatment of glaucoma (or conditions of elevated intraocular pressure) using a novel ab interno trabeculotomy procedure that uses a flexible device. At least one advantage of the present method is that it does not require a conjunctival or scleral incision, which in turn improves patient recovery time and healing.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR ADJUSTING THE REFRACTIVE POWER OF AN IMPLANTED INTRAOCULAR LENS
A method for adjusting the refractive power of a fluid-filled intraocular lens implanted into a patient's eye. The method comprises selecting a pattern to cause a flattening of the intraocular lens or an increase in curvature of the intraocular lens, and ablating the pattern, onto either an optical element of the intraocular lens or a flexible element of the intraocular lens, to alter either one or both of a refractive power and an amplitude of accommodation of the intraocular lens. The ablating occurs while the intraocular lens remains implanted in the patient's eye. The ablating maintains the integrity of a fluid-filled interior cavity defined between the optical element and the flexible element, but causes the flattening of the intraocular lens or the increase in curvature of the intraocular lens.

SECOND PASS FEMTOSECOND LASER FOR INCOMPLETE LASER FULL OR PARTIAL THICKNESS CORNEAL INCISIONS
A method for forming an incision in an eye, the method including performing a first pass of a first laser beam along a path within an eye, wherein after completion of the first pass there exists a residual uncut layer at an anterior surface of a cornea of the eye. The method further including performing a second pass of a second laser beam only along a portion of the path that contains the residual uncut layer, wherein after completion of the second pass, the residual uncut layer is transformed into a full complete through surface incision.
Apparatus and method for generating cut surfaces in the cornea of an eye for correction of ametropia
A method for generating cut surfaces in the cornea of an eye in order to correct ametropia using an apparatus. The method includes providing the apparatus including a laser unit, which focuses pulsed laser radiation into the cornea and moves the focused radiation in the cornea to generate cut surfaces, and a control unit, which controls the laser unit for generating cut surfaces. The method includes forming at least two mutually spaced apart cut surfaces as opening cuts by application of the pulsed laser radiation from the laser unit, each opening cut extending from an anterior corneal surface into the cornea and forming a further cut surface as a relieving cut by application of the pulsed laser radiation from the laser unit, which relieving cut extends from the anterior corneal surface into the cornea. The position and shape of the relieving cut is selected such that the relieving cut contributes to the correction of the ametropia of the eye.
