Glaucoma treatment device

Methods and devices are adapted for implanting into the eye. An incision is formed in the cornea of the eye and a shunt is inserted through the incision into the anterior chamber of the eye. The shunt includes a fluid passageway. The shunt is passed along a pathway from the anterior chamber through the scleral spur of the eye into the suprachoroidal space and positioned in a first position such that a first portion of the fluid passageway communicates with the anterior chamber and a second portion of the fluid passageway communicates with the suprachoroidal space to provide a fluid passageway between the suprachoroidal space and the anterior chamber.

Membrane delamination device

Particular embodiments disclosed herein provide a membrane delamination device for delaminating a membrane from a retina of an eye. The membrane delamination device comprises a blade, a first lever coupled to the blade, and a second lever coupled to the blade. The first lever and the second lever are at least partially housed by a first shaft of a hand-piece. The first lever is fixedly coupled to the first shaft. The second lever is fixedly coupled to the hand-piece. The blade at least partially extends beyond a distal end of the first shaft. The membrane delamination device is configured to be actuated as a result of longitudinal movement of the second lever within and in relation to the first shaft. The second lever moves longitudinally within and in relation to the first shaft due to an application of force to the second lever through the hand-piece.

EYE SURGERY METHOD USING SURGICAL CANNULATED INSTRUMENT
20220401263 · 2022-12-22 ·

An eye surgery method includes incising a cornea of an eye using a blade portion of a surgical cannulated blade instrument to create an opening in the cornea, injecting injectable into an anterior chamber of the eye through the opening by a lumen of the surgical cannulated blade, and stabilizing the eye by engaging an increasing diameter portion of the surgical cannulated blade with the opening.

LIMITED DEPTH CORNEAL PUNCH
20220257419 · 2022-08-18 ·

A single-use adjustable depth trephine corneal punch device that allows a goal trephination depth of a donor cornea to be set and cut prior to a surgical procedure for cutting selected portions of an actual patient cornea. The corneal punch includes a punch block having a central well for receiving a donor cornea, a punch top mounted atop the punch block and having a central cylindrical opening coaxially aligned with the well, and means for cutting a selected portion of the donor cornea in the central well, wherein the means for cutting includes a punch blade mounted atop the punch top and through the opening for combined limited rotation less than about 312 degrees and limited axial movement from a reference or “start” point and into juxtaposed relation against the cornea and a limited axial downward movement during rotation wherein to make a shallow cut in the cornea.

DONOR CORNEAL CUTTING BLADE
20220249289 · 2022-08-11 ·

A donor corneal tissue cutting blade provided with integrally formed asymmetrical markers for facilitation identification of the anterior and posterior sections or portions of the donor corneal tissue is disclosed. The blade is a cylindrical body having, in one embodiment, a U-shaped extension which cooperates with the body to define a keyway. Protrusions may be formed on the body and/or extension to provide further markers.

FIXED DEPTH TREPHINE

Provided herein is a single piece fixed depth trephine for use in ophthalmic surgeries and other surgical applications. Related methods are also described.

Descemetorhexis Creation Device
20220287883 · 2022-09-15 ·

Precise concentric, symmetric, and repeatable circular scoring (cutting) of Descemet's membrane is made possible by a handheld surgical ophthalmic device. The precision of the cut is provided by a stabilizing point on a stabilizing arm as well the anchoring insertion point at the limbus. Stabilization through the insertion point and the stabilizing arm provides a two-point fixation thereby establishing a cutting plane. The cutting plane allows for precise depth of cut whereas the rotating blade's consistent radius allows for circularity of the cut. The stabilization arm fixates on tissue, and is then removed when the procedure is completed. Consistent torque and contact pressure of the cutting blade is provided through rotational control via the depression of a button on a handle thereby removing the need to “free-hand” the desemetorhexis.

A surgical cannulated blade instrument includes a blade portion having a pointed end, a top surface, and a bottom surface opposite the top surface, an increasing diameter portion having a diameter which increases in a direction away from the pointed end, and a cannula portion having a lumen opening at a location between the pointed end and the increasing diameter portion.

KNIFE FOR USE IN MEDICAL TREATMENT

A medical knife has a flat projection shape of a cutting part formed in an approximate rhomboid shape including a front end part, a widest part with the largest width, and a side surface part formed between the front end part and the widest part. A front side bevel constituting an edge on the front side and a back side bevel constituting an edge on the back side are individually formed, having as a boundary a virtual surface including an edge formed along the periphery of the cutting part. A ratio of the angle β between the virtual surface and the back side bevel to the angle α between the virtual surface and the front side bevel at the front end part is greater than the ratio of the angle θ between the virtual surface and the back side bevel to the angle α at the side surface part.
