Magnet mounting and retention system for tool

A tool, such as a level, with magnets embedded in a working surface is provided. For example, the magnets assist in coupling the level to magnetic workpieces. The magnets are placed in a chamber with a floor having a periphery and internal walls extending from the floor periphery. Flanges extend from internal wall of the chamber toward a central axis or point and partially further define the chamber volume. Flanges may be created by depressing surface of the level near the chamber, thus deforming the level body surface to create a channel and a flange from the material displaced from the channel.

HANDRAIL INSTALLATION DEVICE

A handrail installation device, including a first arm removably connected to at least a portion of a stair tread, a second arm pivotally disposed at a first end on at least a portion of the first arm to rotate from retracted in parallel with the first arm in a first position to at least partially extended away from the first arm in a second position, and rotate from extended away from the first arm in the second position to retracted in parallel with the first arm in the first position, and a bubble level disposed on at least a portion of the second arm to identify a level surface based on a position of at least one of the first arm and the second arm.

Level with removable end cap with wall grip

A level with a clip and removable end cap is provided. The end cap includes an outer member and locking member received within a clip that is affixed inside an end of the level. The locking member is inserted into the outer member pushing a moveable portion of the outer member into an engagement, such as a shearing engagement, that holds the end cap assembly in place relative to the level body. The clip includes a projection that interfaces with an aperture in the level frame.

Length adjustable level

An extendible or adjustable length level is provided. The level includes a locking mechanism allowing the user to fix the level at a selected or desired level. The locking system allows the user to lock the level at the desired length and provides more effective and robust locking than conventional expanding levels. In some embodiments, the locking mechanism is designed such that translational movement of the user-actuated control (as opposed to rotational motion) is used to move the locking mechanism into the locked position.

Continuous edge adjustable level

An extendible or adjustable length level is provided. The level includes a frame, a slidable member, and a bushing. The slidable member is coupled to the frame and extends and retracts along the frame. The bushing is coupled to one of the frame or the slidable member and couples the frame and slidable member together.

Tools and methods for locating studs in a wall

A tool, system, and method are disclosed for locating a hidden stud and identifying angles on a finished wall. The tool includes an elongated housing, at least one magnet, and at least one level. The housing has a generally planar contact surface disposed opposite a viewing surface. The at least one magnet is secured to the housing such that a magnetic field from the at least one magnet extends from the contact surface. The level is secured to the housing such that the level is viewable from the viewing surface. The at least one magnet, the level, and the housing are sized relative to each other such that a magnetic attraction between the at least one magnet and a metallic element in the wall is sufficient to maintain the tool on the wall without external support.

UNIVERSAL LIQUID ANGLE INDICATOR

The invention is related to gages to measure incline angles of moving and immobile objects and can be used in incline angle gages in such transportation vehicles as airplanes and ships (if a phosphorus scale can be applied to a closed loop clear tube) as a standby device to display pitch and roll angles (FIG. 5, FIG. 6, FIG. 7, FIG. 8). The purpose of this invention is an effective measurement of incline angles in stationary and dynamic objects in a wide range (0°-180°, 0°-360°). Faster measurement is required to improve stated parameters of the general purpose liquid angle indicator. It is achieved because liquid, an air bubble or indicating ball within the semicircular and round clear tube, subjected to gravitational forces, can display measured angles relative to the scale on the graduated clear tube without being in a horizontal position.
