Porous medical device and methods of use
A medical system including a tube defining a lumen, a porous body connected to a distal end of the tube to be advanced to a target site within a subject. The porous body defines a plurality of openings, the plurality of openings are in fluid connection with the lumen, the porous body includes a first material and a second material, and the second material elutes from the porous body in the subject.
Wound dressing
The present invention relates to a multilayered wound dressing particularly for wound treatment in the granulation and epithelization phase. The wound dressing comprises a) a first layer as a wound contact layer having a first side and a second side, and b) at least one second layer as an absorbent layer having a first side and a second side and comprising a hydrophilic polyurethane foam, wherein the polyurethane foam comprises a water fraction of at least 10% by weight of water.
WOUND DRESSING WITH ELASTIC PROPERTIES FOR CONTOURING TO THE SHAPE OF A LIMB
In accordance with an aspect of the present invention, there is provided a wound dressing with elastic properties for use with a human or an animal. The wound dressing includes a plurality of individual segments, each segment connected to at least one other segment by an elastic connector, and each segment having at least two perforated layers, with at least one layer having a plurality of protrusions. The wound dressing further includes a plurality of spacing elements, with each spacing element disposed between adjacent segments and retained by either the adjacent segments or the elastic connector.
Wound dressing, glove and method for production of a wound dressing
According to the invention, a wound dressing may be further developed, whereby a wound dressing made from a planar structure with a first main direction of extension and at least one further main direction of extension, whereby the textile planar structure, at least along the main directions of extension comprises extensibility properties which differ by less than 80%, preferably less than 50%.
Granulating dressing for low exuding chronic wounds
In some non-limiting examples, a system for stimulating tissue growth at a tissue site may include a porous foam and a moisture barrier. The porous foam may include an exterior-facing surface, a tissue contact surface, and a plurality of struts positioned at the tissue contact surface. The plurality of struts may be configured to contact the tissue site and to create tissue deformation at the tissue site without the application of a reduced pressure. The moisture barrier may be configured to cover the exterior-facing surface of the porous foam and to trap moisture at the tissue site. Also provided are other systems, apparatus, and methods suitable for stimulating tissue growth.
WOUND DRESSING
The present invention relates to a wound dressing composition for use as or in a wound dressing and to methods of making the wound dressing composition. The wound dressing composition comprises wicking material, and superabsorbent material that is punched into the wicking material. The action of punching the superabsorbent material into the wicking material acts to significantly increase the rate of absorption of the combination materials.

Systems and methods for using negative pressure wound therapy to manage open abdominal wounds
Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to the treatment of wounds using negative pressure. Some embodiments disclosed herein provide for a foam pad, which may be suitable for use in abdominal wound sites, and which may be sized in a dimensionally-independent manner. Additional embodiments provide for a wound contact layer, as well as a system for the treatment of abdominal wounds.
Very absorbent, thin adhesive dressing, and uses thereof for the treatment of chronic wounds
The invention relates to an absorbent dressing comprising an adhesive silicone-coated side strip, which is particularly suitable for use in the care of chronic wounds, such as ulcers or eschars, or acute wounds, such as burns. The absorbent dressing includes a breathable impermeable substrate (4) and an absorbent non-woven fabric (6). The substrate is formed by assembling a continuous film (4a) and an openwork reinforcement that is coated with an adhesive silicone gel (4b) without blocking the openings in the reinforcement. A non-absorbent web (5) is secured to a complementary non-woven fabric (7), such as to encase the above-mentioned absorbent non-woven fabric (6) without being secured at any point to the latter. The encased absorbent non-woven fabric is subsequently assembled to the substrate (4) along part of said silicone-coated surface of the substrate.
Superhydrophobic, diatomaceous earth comprising bandages and method of making the same
A bandage comprising a substrate having a first surface with a plurality of superhydrophobic particles attached to the first surface. The plurality of superhydrophobic particles can be porous diatomaceous earth particles having a hydrophobic layer conforming to the surfaces of the DE particles, where the hydrophobic layer is bound to the DE particles. The plurality of attached superhydrophobic particles can render the first surface superhydrophobic, while a second surface opposite the first surface can be hydrophilic or hydrophobic. The substrate can be breathable in order to maintain skin health for the tissue underlying the bandage. The substrate can be selected from porous films, apertured films, textiles, nonwoven materials, impregnated composites thereof, and combinations thereof.
