VERIFYING MAP DATA USING CHALLENGE QUESTIONS
Aspects of the disclosure relate to validating map data using challenge questions. For instance, an attributes to be validated may be identified from the map data. At least one challenge question may be selected from a plurality of predetermined challenge questions based on the attribute. An image may be retrieved based on image information associated with the at least one challenge question. The image and the at least one challenge question may be provided for display. In response to the providing, operator input identifying an answer to the at least one challenge question may be received. This answer may be then used to validate the attribute.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR GENERATING ROAD MAP
An apparatus and method for generating a map based on driving information are provided. The apparatus includes a user log analyzing device that clusters a user based on a driving tendency of the user by analyzing a user log, in which driving information of a user vehicle is recorded. A reliability calculating device calculates reliability for each driving situation of the user based on a driving tendency of a user cluster and a map generating device generates a map by extracting a map change point based on the calculated reliability.
NAVIGATION APPARATUS AND MAPPING SYSTEM USING PERSONAL CONTACTS
A navigation apparatus and method which uses personal contact-based route guidance. A route guidance generator receives information about personal contacts including a location, a description and a rating value for route guidance and generates route guidance suitable for navigation applications. The personal contacts based guidance can be combined with normal street and maneuver based guidance.
Crowd sourced mapping with robust structural features
A location and mapping service is described that creates a global database of indoor navigation maps through crowd-sourcing and data fusion technologies. The navigation maps consist of a database of geo-referenced, uniquely described features in the multi-dimensional sensor space (e.g., including structural, RF, magnetic, image, acoustic, or other data) that are collected automatically as a tracked mobile device is moved through a building (e.g. a person with a mobile phone or a robot). The feature information can be used to create building models as one or more tracked devices traverse a building.
Method and apparatus for multi-vehicle maneuver and impact analysis
There are disclosed various methods and apparatuses for multi-vehicle maneuver and impact analyses. According to an embodiment, the apparatus comprises at least one processor and at least one memory including computer program code, the at least one memory and the computer program code configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus at least to: receive sensor data from at least one motion sensor associated with a selected vehicle from a plurality of vehicles, said sensor data indicating movements of the vehicle in a geographical area; obtain from the sensor data location of the vehicle in the geographical area; maintain a vehicle location and motion database having at least three grid layers of grid cells representing at least a part of the geographical area, said grid cells of the at least three grid layers being partly overlapping so that borders of the grid cells of different grid layers have an offset between each other; map the location of the vehicle to a grid cell of each grid layer into which the location of the vehicle belongs; insert or maintaining an identifier of the vehicle in a list of vehicle identifiers for the mapped grid cell of each grid layer; and determine on the basis of the identifiers of the vehicles in the lists which other vehicles are in a proximity of said selected vehicle.
SYSTEM AND METHOD OF CREATING CUSTOM DYNAMIC NEIGHBORHOODS FOR INDIVIDUAL DRIVERS
A system and methods relate to, inter alia, aggregating geolocation data and auxiliary data associated with a plurality of driving activities. The system and methods may further identify the plurality of driving activities that have common geolocation data points based on a geolocation threshold. The system and methods may further determine, from among the identified plurality of driving activities, one or more designated driving activities based on an auxiliary threshold. The system and methods may further generate the neighborhood map that includes the one or more designated driving activities. The system and methods may further transmit a visual representation of, or electronic message detailing, the neighborhood map to a mobile device of a user for display, or otherwise causing the neighborhood map to be displayed to the user.
Dynamic journey mapping and recordkeeping
Journey information is mapped by first identifying an acceptable trigger condition type, such as a photo trigger condition type, of a plurality of trigger condition types. Once a journey has begun, a trigger condition of the acceptable trigger condition type may be detected at a mobile computing device, for example when the mobile computing device captures a photo. A location of the mobile computing device is then identified in response to the detection of the trigger condition, and a marker is placed on a map identifying the location. The marker is also associated with data associated with the trigger condition, for example by allowing the photo captured by the mobile computing device to be viewable at the marker.
Method and apparatus for updating and sharing an obstacle database for aircraft
An apparatus and a method allowing a pilot or more generally a crew to enrich a database of user obstacles directly inside the aircraft, on the ground and even during flight. Generally, the apparatus is based on a new software component, which allows new services to be provided for the functional avionic components and for the human machine interfaces HMI of the avionics. This new software component is configured to allow: user obstacles to be created, changed, deleted at the request of components of HMIs of the avionics; user obstacles to be sent to clients of the services of this new software component, which are either other functional components of the avionics or other components of HMIs of the avionics; user obstacles to be recorded to a nonvolatile memory and restored from this nonvolatile memory.
Method and data processing system for generating map data of a digital map
In a method for generating map data of a digital map from raw data of the digital map with improved flexibility, an object-specific correction data set is used for generating the map data. The object-specific correction data set comprises precisely one value of a derived attribute for the map object, wherein the value of the derived attribute contained in the correction data set is allocated to the map object of the map data.
