FLOW RATE MEASUREMENT SYSTEM
A flow rate measurement system outputs a measurement value which represents a magnitude of a flow rate and a flow direction of a fluid that flows through a particular main passage. The system includes a bypass passage disposed in the main passage, a detection unit disposed in the bypass passage that outputs a detection value corresponding to a magnitude of a flow rate and a flow direction of the fluid flowing through the bypass passage, and a calculation unit that, by using the detection value, calculates the measurement value by compensating as needed for a delay in the change in flow rate in the bypass passage with respect to the change in flow rate in the main passage. The compensation is based on whether a change of flow direction has occurred in the main passage or the bypass passage.
Metering console
A metering console (100) includes a housing (110) adapted to allow flow of a liquid (F) therethrough. The housing (110) is adapted to attach with one or more gardening devices (132, 152). The metering console (100) includes a display (170) associated with the housing (110). The metering console (100) is characterized in that the display (170) is rotatably engaged with the housing (110) of the metering console (100) such that the display (170) rotates along a central axis (A-A) of the housing (110).
Automated Measuring System for Meter Test Bench
An automated meter testing system that includes a fluid inlet valve fluidly coupled both to a fluid source and an inlet on the at least one meter. The fluid source provides fluid pressure to move fluid through the at least one meter. A flow control valve is fluidly coupled to the at least one meter opposite the fluid inlet valve. A valve controller that operates the flow control valve. A controller is electrically connected to the valve controller. The controller sends at least one signal to the valve controller to incrementally open or restrict the flow control valve to increase or decrease a flow rate of the fluid through the at least one meter.

A device for measuring the flow rate of a fluid, including a bladed impeller mounted in the conduit to be driven in rotation by the flow of the fluid, and to which at least one magnet is fixed, and a magnetic field sensor arranged near the conduit to generate a signal each time the magnet of the impeller, passes thereby. The number of signals generated by the sensor in a period of time is representative of the flow rate of the fluid.

A flow meter for a home appliance, in particular a dishwasher or a washing machine, the flow meter comprising a control unit having a first power supply terminal, a second power supply terminal and a digital input terminal which is connected to the second power supply terminal via a limiting element; a movable element which is moved by a flow of a fluid and which comprises at least one movable magnetic element; and a two-lead magneto-sensitive unit which comprises a signal terminal connected to the digital input terminal of the control unit and a reference terminal connected to the first power supply terminal of the control unit; wherein the magneto-sensitive unit comprises a magnetic sensor element having two output terminals connected to the signal terminal and the reference terminal, and a power supply terminal; and a buffered power supply unit configured to generate a continuous auxiliary voltage from the signal terminal and the reference terminal of the magneto-sensitive unit and to provide the continuous auxiliary voltage at the power supply terminal of the magnetic sensor element.
METHOD FOR DETERMINING AT LEAST ONE VARIABLE OPERATIONAL CHARACTERISTIC OF A HYDRAULIC SYSTEM
A method that allows the determination of at least one variable operational characteristic of a hydraulic system which includes a hydraulic fluid source a utilizing apparatus connected to the source through a conduit, and a flow-rate measuring device, positioned after the source for providing a signal indicative of the flow-rate of the liquid. The method includes the operations of providing in the hydraulic system an indicator device containing information indicative of the values taken by a predetermined parameter of the flow-rate measuring device as a function of the flow rate of the fluid; providing an acquisition means adapted to acquire the information from the indicator device; and predisposing an electronic processing means to calculate in a predetermined manner at least one operational characteristic of the hydraulic system, as a function of the flow-rate measuring device and of the information acquired by the indicator device.
Method and system for controlling energy transfer of a thermal energy exchanger
For controlling energy transfer (Q) of a thermal energy exchanger of an HVAC system, a control system determines flow-dependent model parameters (M) for modelling performance of the thermal energy exchanger, using a plurality of measurement data sets, each measurement data set including for a respective measurement time a value of a measured flow of fluid (?act), a value of a measured supply temperature (Tsup) of the fluid, and a value of the measured return temperature (Tret) of the fluid. The control system calculates an estimated energy transfer (Qest) of the thermal energy exchanger, using the flow-dependent model parameters (M), and controls (S4) the energy transfer (Q) of the thermal energy exchanger by regulating (S5) the flow of fluid (?) through the thermal energy exchanger, using the estimated energy transfer (Qest).

A system for operating a flow meter in a fluid pipeline comprises at least one flow conditioner or mixer: at least one flow meter: a pair of pressure sensors or transmitters, to measure a differential pressure of the at least one flow conditioner or mixer; at least one further pressure sensor or transmitter that measures a fluid pressure in the pipeline; and at least one temperature sensor for measuring a fluid temperature in the pipeline. A method for operating the flow meter is also provided.
