System and method for measuring saturated steam flow using redundant measurements

A system and method for measuring a flow of saturated steam can include a temperature sensor that measures process temperature, and one or more pressure sensors that measure pressure including differential pressure and static pressure. A flow of saturated steam can be calculated from two sets of measurements, one measurement using the differential pressure and the static pressure and a second measurement using the differential pressure and the process temperature. Redundant flow measurements can be provided with respect to the flow of saturated steam in case of failure of the temperature sensor or the pressure sensors. In addition, a deviation between the flow of the saturated steam as calculated from the process temperature and the differential pressure compared to a flow of saturated steam as calculated from the differential pressure and the static pressure can provide an indication of degradation of the temperature sensor or the pressure sensors.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PREDICTIVE FLOW MEASUREMENT AT IN-PLANT PIPING

Upstream process equipment transmits a predetermined fluid to downstream process equipment. A valve fluidly couples the upstream process equipment to the downstream process equipment. A first pressure sensor and a first temperature sensor are coupled to the upstream process equipment and upstream from the valve. A second pressure sensor and a second temperature sensor are coupled to the downstream process equipment and downstream from the valve. A control system is coupled to the first pressure sensor, the first temperature sensor, the second pressure sensor, and the second temperature sensor. The control system determines a first fluid flowrate of the predetermined fluid using a fluid flow model based on pressure data from the first pressure sensor and the second pressure sensor, temperature data from the first temperature sensor and the second temperature sensor, a size of the valve, at least one fluid parameter regarding the predetermined fluid, and a valve flow coefficient of the valve.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MEASURING LOW SPEED FLUID FLOW

Disclosed herein are an apparatus and method fluid flow measurements which include a pressure transducer and a flexible tube. The pressure transducer is tuned to measure flow speeds having a Reynolds number less than 100 and include an inlet. The flexible tube has a first end fluidly coupled to the inlet and a second end positioned adjacent to and in fluid communication with a plurality of fluid outlets of a microchannel flow structure. Each of the plurality of fluid outlets has a cross section defining an outlet area. The second end has a cross section defining a flexible tube area that is larger than the outlet area.

Pressure type flowmeter and fluid control device

A pressure type flowmeter includes a fluid resistance element provided in a flow path through which fluid flows, and in which a resistance flow path communicating with the flow path is formed, an upstream-side pressure sensor that detects upstream-side pressure of the fluid resistance element, and a downstream-side pressure sensor that detects downstream-side pressure of the fluid resistance element, in which the fluid resistance element is sandwiched and fixed by a pair of sandwiching components sealing components having a sheet-like shape are provided between the fluid resistance element and the sandwiching components and protrusions that partially press the sealing components are formed on at least one of the fluid resistance element and the sandwiching components.

Pilot-Operated Relief Valve Assembly

A pilot-operated relief valve assembly can include a relief valve, and a pressure detection assembly. A valve lift factor or indicator of relief flow can be determined based on pressure measurements gathered by the pressure detection assembly.

VOLUME FRACTION METER FOR MULTIPHASE FLUID FLOW

A volume fraction meter that includes a flow meter coupled to a flow line. The flow line includes a turned portion and the flow meter is positioned upstream from the turned portion with respect to a flow direction. The flow meter is configured to measure a volumetric flow rate of a multiphase fluid flowing in the flow direction through the flow line. The flow line includes a nozzle opening downstream the turned portion. The volume fraction meter also includes a strain gauge coupled to the flow line between the flow meter and the turned portion of the flow line. The strain gauge is configured to measure a bending strain on the flow line upon discharge of the multiphase fluid through the nozzle opening, such that the bending strain and the volumetric flow-rate provide inputs for determining a mixture density of the multiphase fluid.

A new DP meter diagnostic system for wet gas flow builds on existing diagnostic techniques. Based on new diagnostic parameters and calculations derived from them, blocked pressure ports or impulse lines can be identified or wet gas established as the cause of an abnormal reading. Further diagnostic techniques can take advantage of the new diagnostic parameters to predict a liquid loading parameter, gas flow rate and fluid flow rate for wet gas flow.
