Sensor Arrangements, Sensor Systems, and Methods for Determining Height of Liquids in Tanks
A sensor arrangement for measuring liquid height in a tank can include a housing, a transducer, and a couplant. The housing can have an interior and an aperture, the aperture placing the interior of the housing in communication with the environment external to the housing. The transducer can be seated within the aperture. The couplant can be mechanically connected to the transducer and can have a compressible couplant body. The couplant body can extend between the transducer and the external environment for transmitting an acoustic pulse from the transducer to a tank bottom for measuring height of a liquid overlaying the transducer.
Device for determining a filling level of a liquid in a container
The invention relates to a device (1) for determining a filling level of a liquid (F) in a container (B), comprising a submersible unit (2) having a pressure sensor unit (3) and a transmitter unit (14) configured as a radio transmitter unit, an ultrasonic transmitter unit or a light signal transmitter unit, and a float unit (5) having a further pressure sensor unit (6) and a further transmitter unit (15) configured as a radio transmitter unit, wherein the further pressure sensor unit (6) is arranged at or in a floating body (7) of the float unit (5) in such a manner that, if the float unit (5) is arranged in the liquid (F) for which the device (1) is intended to determine the filling level, the further pressure sensor unit (6) is arranged below the surface (O) of the liquid (F).
TANK GAUGING AND INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
The disclosure generally describes computer-implemented methods, software, and systems for gauging tanks. A computer-implemented method includes generating, using an interrogator, a radio frequency signal directed towards a radio frequency identification (RFID) device that is freely floating on the liquid stored within the tank, receiving a return signal from the RFID device, the return signal being associated to a location of the RFID device, processing the return signal to determine a height of the liquid stored within the tank based on a triangulation algorithm, and determining a result data based on the height of the liquid stored within the tank and one or more tank characteristics.
LIQUID SUPPLY SYSTEM AND LIQUID PREPARATION METHOD
A liquid preparation method is provided. The method includes measuring, with a detection member, a quantity of a liquid stored in a liquid tank by emitting a detection signal toward a floating member positioned in a tube. The tube extends in a height direction of the liquid tank and fluidly connects to two connecting ports of the liquid tank that are located at opposite sides of a surface of the liquid, and the position of the floating member in the tube varies according to a level of the liquid in the liquid tank. The method also includes regulating the liquid in the liquid tank in response to the quantity of the liquid in the liquid tank.

Systems and methods for monitoring annular fluid level
A system for monitoring an annular fluid level may include a floating element disposed on a surface of a drilling fluid within an annulus of the well, during mud cap drilling operations. The system may also include an antenna disposed above the floating element. The antenna may be configured to transmit a first signal to the floating element, and to receive a second signal from the floating element in response to the first signal. The system may also include a processor configured to determine a time value that measures a time between a transmittal, by the antenna, of the first signal and a receipt, by the antenna, of the second signal. The processor may also determine a state of a drilling fluid level within the annulus based on the time value, and update a drilling program for the well based on the state of the drilling fluid level.
