Meat Product Fat Testing System
A meat product fat testing system (MPFTS) for determining the percent fat content of a meat product. The MPFTS includes two embodiments: a fat testing/analyzing unit and a hand-held calculating unit. The fat testing/analyzing unit integrally houses a heating means, meat product weighing means, a fat/moisture analyzer, a microcontroller, and a display. A sample of a meat product is placed into the unit and the unit is activated. The percent fat content of the sample is automatically analyzed and the result shown on the unit's display. The hand-held calculating unit is used with a conventional scale and heat source, which are used to obtain wet and dry weight readings of a meat product sample. The readings are input into the calculating device, which then displays in a window the percent fat content of the sample.
Measuring and converting food waste
A system for measuring and converting food waste is provided. The system includes multiple food waste monitoring devices and a food waste analysis device. These food waste monitoring devices are deployed at different geographical locations. Each of the food waste monitoring devices is configured for obtaining food waste data that includes a reason for waste, a destination of the food waste, and a category of food waste. The food waste data further includes an estimation of the weight of food waste generated by converting the volume of the food waste based on the nature of the food waste. The food waste data is transmitted to the food waste analysis device, which is configured to perform various analysis on the collected food waste data.
ELECTRONIC COASTER FOR ESTIMATING CALORIE CONSUMPTION
The present disclosure discloses an electronic coaster for estimating amount of calories consumed by a user, through a beverage present in a beverage holder. The electronic coaster comprises at least one weight sensor to measure weight of a beverage holder comprising a beverage and a computing unit to receive the measured weight from the at least one weight sensor, determine weight of the beverage based on the received weight, identify beverage type and a predefined calorific value corresponding to the beverage type, determine change in weight from the weight of the beverage and estimate total amount of calories consumed by a user based on the change in weight and the predefined calorific value.
Body weight management device for managing a measurement subject's body weight using a target
A body weight management device includes: a change obtainment unit for obtaining an intra-day body weight change value on a daily basis based body weight measurement values of a measurement subject measured on a daily basis; an achievement rate obtainment unit for comparing the intra-day body weight change value obtained by the change obtainment unit with an intra-day target weight loss value and obtaining, based on a result of the comparison, a target achievement rate indicating a percentage of total days in a predetermined period in which the intra-day body weight change value has reached the intra-day target weight loss value; and a target obtainment unit for obtaining, based on the target achievement rate obtained by the achievement rate obtainment unit, a new intra-day target weight loss value to serve as a target for future body weight measurement.
Assessment of nutrition intake using a handheld tool
Embodiments regard nutrition assessment using a handheld device. An embodiment of an apparatus includes a handle with a controller within the handle, an attachment arm extending from the handle, and a user-assistive device coupled with an end of the attachment arm, wherein the apparatus is to determine a mass held by the user-assistive device, the determination being made during a task by a user of the handheld tool including manipulation of the handheld tool.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR MEASURING DIET AND NUTRITION IN CHILDREN
A tray assembly for monitoring food consumed from one or more dishes supported by the tray assembly includes a housing defining an interior and having an upper surface for supporting the one or more dishes. One or more weight assemblies are disposed in the interior of the housing. Each weight assembly includes a weight sensor configured to detect a weight of one dish of the one or more dishes and to provide a weight signal corresponding to the detected weight of the one dish. A difference between the weight taken at a first time during a meal and at a second time, after the first time, during the meal being generally indicative of an amount of food consumed during the meal from the one or more dishes.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR NUTRITION TRACKING
A nutrition tracking system comprises a nutrition tracking server, a plurality of weight-based food offering terminals, and one or more nutrition and meal information inquiry terminals. Multiple weight-based food offering terminals may be equipped on a food service cart. Each weight-based food offering terminal may be initialized to offer a type of food. The weight-based food offering terminal automatically measures the weight of food taken by a customer or for a customer, calculates the cost of food, and shows the weight and the cost on the display in real time. When the food is paid, the weight-based food offering terminal automatically reports the vending information to the nutrition tracking server. The nutrition tracking server maintains a database for customer meal information and a database for customer nutrition information. Customers may inquire their meal history and nutrition information using the nutrition and meal information inquiry terminals.
METHOD AND SYSTEM OF MANAGING THE ACQUISITION OF FOOD IN A COMMERCIAL ENVIRONMENT
A method and system of managing the acquisition of food in a commercial environment. An example method includes receiving, from a first scale, a container weight of a container when food is removed from the container. The method also includes determining a removed weight of the food from the container based on the container weight relative to an initial container weight, receiving, from a second scale, a plate weight of a plate when the food is added to the plate. The method also includes determining an added weight of the food to the plate based on the plate weight relative to an initial plate weight, determining whether the removed weight and the added weight match, and responsive to determining that the removed weight and the added weight do not match, activating an alarm.
Methods Of Treating Overweight And Obesity
The present disclosure relates to compositions, kits, uses, systems and methods for treating overweight and obesity using naltrexone plus bupropion, preferably in combination with a comprehensive web-based and/or telephone-based weight management program, and preferably in subjects at increased risk of adverse cardiovascular outcomes.
