TORQUE MEASUREMENT SYSTEM FOR AIRCRAFT ENGINES
A torque measurement system for an aircraft propulsor including a reduction gearbox includes generally a first toothed wheel mounted to a loaded shaft, a second toothed wheel mounted to a torque reference tube radially spaced apart from the loaded shaft and concentric therewith, and a torque probe located proximate the first and second toothed wheels. A frustoconical element is located proximate an input end of the loaded shaft, the frustoconical element having an annular body radially disposed between the loaded shaft and the torque reference tube and being mounted for rotation with one of the two. The frustoconical element includes a frustoconical surface that abuts a complementary running surface. The frustoconical surface of the frustoconical element and the complementary running surface rotate relative to each other and define a contact interface, the contact interface being annular and oriented at an angle relative to the central axis.
METHOD AND SENSOR ARRANGEMENT FOR WHEEL TORQUE-BASED VEHICLE OPERATION
The present disclosure relates to a method for operating a vehicle based on wheel torque. According to a first aspect, this disclosure proposes a method for operating a vehicle comprising a drivetrain. The method comprises determining, based on angular positions of one or more shafts of the drivetrain at different points along the drivetrain, a windup of the one or more shafts. The method further comprises estimating a wheel torque of one or more wheels arranged on a driven wheel axle of the vehicle based on the determined windup and a stiffness constant representing characteristics of the one or more shafts in-between the different points and using the estimated wheel torque while operating the vehicle. The disclosure also relates to corresponding sensor arrangement and computer program, and to a vehicle comprising the sensor arrangement.
Measuring torque using shaft twist in electric submersible pumping system motors
A torque determination system for use in connection with a pumping system includes a first shaft sensor assembly that produces a first shaft revolution completion signal and a second shaft sensor assembly that produces a second shaft revolution completion signal. The torque determination system includes a processor unit configured to determine the torque produced by the motor based on a shaft twist angle calculated by comparing the first shaft revolution completion signal and the second shaft revolution completion signal.
