SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR MONITORING LEAKS IN UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANKS
Leak detection system and method for monitoring leaks in underground and aboveground storage tanks, pipelines or other containments, including single, double or triple wall containments are provided. A leak detection apparatus includes an oxidation chamber, a chemical marker concentrator, a mass spectrometer (MS) ion trap and a scroll vacuum pump. Vapor samples carrying marker chemicals introduced into a tank, pipeline, or other containment are injected at sample injection point into an oxidation chamber. Oxygen from an oxygen source is fed into oxidation chamber to destroy or oxidize contaminates such as hydrocarbons in the vapor without destroying or oxidizing the chemical markers. Effluent from the oxidation chamber is passed to an elongate conduit with a metal foil or screen suspended within the conduit. The marker chemicals are attracted by a chemical coating on the foil/screen and released by heating the metal. The released marker chemicals are fed into a mass spec ion trap for leakage analysis and results.
Device and Method for Leakage Testing of a Connection Between a Rubber Stopper and a Corresponding Drug Container
The invention concerns the field of container closure integrity (CCI) and the testing of CCI and relates to a device and a method for providing a displacement of a rubber stopper for leakage testing of a connection between the rubber stopper and a corresponding drug container which can be used for storing drugs under sterile conditions and which is closed by said rubber stopper.
System for detecting coolant leaks in generators
A system for detecting a gas leak in a generator includes a source of carbon dioxide gas, and a subsystem for introducing the carbon dioxide gas into the generator. An infrared imaging device is adapted to communicate with a notification device to display an image of at least a portion of the generator and the carbon dioxide gas. The infrared imaging device is a cooled detector and a filter with a spectral response between about 3 μm and about 5 μm. At least one of the detector and the filter is cooled to between about −80° C. and about −200° C. The gas leak will be indicated on the notification device.
APPARATUS, SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MAINTENANCE OF A STRUCTURE CARRYING A FLUID
A method and apparatus are for maintaining a structure for carrying a fluid. In addition, a method, apparatus and system are for detecting leakage from a structure carrying a fluid. The methods include: providing a jacket covering at least a portion of a structure carrying a fluid, the jacket forming a pocket between the jacket and the structure, the pocket having an inlet and an outlet; injecting a drive fluid into the pocket in a flow through the inlet; and moving a potentially harmful fluid in the pocket with the flow of injected drive fluid out of the pocket through the outlet. The method may further include detecting the potentially harmful fluid by use of a detector downstream of the pocket. The described apparatuses and/or the system may be for performing one or more of the methods.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DETECTING LEAKAGES FROM SEALED CONTAINERS
A method for detecting leakages of fluids from sealed containers includes defining a detection zone in which a sealed container will be placed, putting the detection zone in communication with at least one gas sensor through at least one duct, introducing a flushing gas into the detection zone through the at least one duct, placing a container in the detection zone, sucking gases from the detection zone through the duct and transferring them to the sensor for ascertaining the presence of a gas leakage in the container.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TESTING CLOSURE INTEGRITY OF A SEALED CONTAINER AT CRYOGENIC TEMPERATURES
A system for testing the closure integrity of a sealed container at a cryogenic temperature is provided. The system includes a sealed container containing helium having an opening sealed by a closure, a cryogenic storage vessel at least partially filled with a cryogenic fluid at the cryogenic temperature, a hollow tube extending through an opening of the cryogenic storage vessel, a fixture configured to engage the sealed container, and a leak detection unit connected to the hollow tube. The hollow tube has a first end positioned outside of the cryogenic storage vessel and an opposing second end positioned inside the cryogenic storage vessel. The fixture is configured to be removably inserted within the hollow tube through an opening at the first end of the hollow tube, such that the sealed container is positioned at or proximate the second end of the hollow tube.

MUD PUMP VALVE LEAK DETECTION AND FORECASTING
A system and method for controlling a pump in a drilling system, of which the method includes determining a plurality of baseline behaviors for one or more valves of the pump, determining a plurality of in-use behaviors for the one or more valves of the pump. Each of the plurality of in-use behaviors are determined based on one or more measurements from one or more sensors. The method also includes comparing the in-use behaviors and the baseline behaviors, and forecasting, based on the comparison of the in-use behaviors and the baseline behaviors, a remaining useful life of the at least one of the one or more valves.
Device and method for distinguishing a test gas escaping from a leak from interfering gas
A method for distinguishing a test gas escaping from a leak in a test object (21) from an interfering gas in the environment of the test object (21) during sniffing leak detection, having the steps: suctioning gas from the environment of the test object (21) in the region of the outer surface of the test object by means of a sniffing tip, which has a suction opening (14), which is connected, for gas conduction, to a sensor (18), which is designed to determine the test gas partial pressure of the test gas in the suctioned gas flow; varying, with periodic repetition, the flow intensity of the suctioned gas flow; setting a total pressure of the suctioned gas at the sensor (18) of at least 80 percent of the total pressure of the gas in the atmosphere (23) surrounding the test object (21); avoiding fluctuations of the total pressure of the suctioned gas at the sensor (18) of more than 10 percent; measuring the test gas partial pressure of test gas contained in the suctioned gas flow by means of the sensor (18); indicating that the test object (21) has a leak if the measured test gas partial pressure has a varying component, the average amplitude of which lies above a threshold value and which follows the variation of the suctioned gas flow.
