PEEL AND PLACE DRESSING HAVING A CLOSED-CELL CONTACT LAYER
20200121509 · 2020-04-23 ·

A dressing for treating a tissue site with negative pressure may have a first layer comprising a manifold, a second layer coupled to the first layer, a third layer coupled to the second layer opposite the first layer. The second layer is formed from a first closed-cell foam and includes a plurality of apertures through the first closed-cell foam. The third layer is formed from a second closed-cell foam and includes a plurality of fluid restrictions through the second closed-cell foam that are configured to expand in response to a pressure gradient across the second closed-cell foam. The plurality of fluid restrictions are fluidly coupled with at least some of the plurality of apertures in the second layer.

An adhesive wound dressing is disclosed herein. The adhesive wound dressing comprises a first layer that is an outer layer. A second layer is a resilient layer and affixed to an inner surface of the first layer. A third layer is an inner gauze dressing and affixed to an inner surface of the second layer, wherein the first layer, the second layer, and the third layer define a generally tubular configuration having an open end and a closed end. An adhesive layer may be applied adjacent to the open end for configured securing the adhesive wound dressing to a wounded body part subsequent to the wounded body part being inserted within the open end.

System and method for donning and labeling a body cast
10568774 · 2020-02-25 ·

A system and method for donning and labeling a body cast provides a protective body cast that is labeled. The system and method provides a protective body cast that forms padded protection around the body of a bedridden patient; and especially around the hip, buttock, and lower extremity pressure points. The body cast is composed of a nanomaterial and serves as an envelope for an inner lining of a softer material such as a composite foam rubber. The body cast is sectioned into a multi-layered enclosing cloth support wrap that is fabricated from a nanomaterial, an inner surface having padding, and at least one auxiliary padding that detachably attaches to the body cast for additional padding. Labels detachably attach to the lower portion of the support wrap for indicating information pertinent to the patient. A caregiver accesses the label to read and mark directly on a bedridden patient.

An orthopedic splint system comprising self curing splinting system that is applied to an injured limb without use of water. The splint material is contained in tear resistant outer pouch and an inner protective sleeve where a water-laden gel is contained in a pouch situated in direct contact with the splint material. The liquid pouch will be torn when a longitudinal tab, which is an integral part of the pouch, is pulled out releasing the water-laden gel which will come in contact with the splint system causing it to cure.

MEDICAL DRESSING FOR A CONVEX BODY PART

Disclosed is a medical dressing having a pad and a border portion. The pad can have a rim and the border portion extends along said rim. The medical dressing can be arranged in a first substantially planar configuration and be folded along a first line, and a second portion of said medical dressing is formed and a second substantially cup-shaped configuration. The first portion can be facing and contacting said second portion. Said first substantially planar configuration the first and second portions can be connected by means of a fixed connection along a second line, which defines a second line segment having a first and a second end-point. The first and second line segments are connected at their respective first end-points such that an angle between 90 and 175 degrees is formed between the first and second line segments when the medical dressing is in the first substantially planar configuration.

Moisture Assessment System and Method for Wound Care

A Wound Moisture and Assessment System includes a flexible coupon containing one or more electrochemical moisture sensors for measuring a moisture profile of a wound. The coupon is activated by a wireless RF scanner that provides power to the coupon for taking moisture measurements, receives the moisture measurements therefrom, and transmits the measurements to a computing device. The moisture measurements can be represented as a wound moisture map that allows a patient or caregiver to assess the health and healing progress of a wound such as an ulcer.

Chlorhexidine-containing antimicrobial laminates

Antimicrobial laminates of the invention include at least one adhesive layer; a backing outwardly exposed on a first side of the adhesive layer; and, optionally, a release liner outwardly exposed on a second side of the adhesive layer opposite from the first side of the adhesive layer. At least one of the at least one adhesive layer and the backing includes an antimicrobially effective amount of substantially pure chlorhexidine.

ABSORBENT SHEET

The purpose of the present invention is to provide an absorbent sheet that can sufficiently absorb exudates exuding from the area of a lesion and can exhibit a powerful deodorizing effect for illness-associated odors. The present invention relates to an absorbent sheet with deodorizing functions comprising cellulosic fibers, absorbent fibers, a thermal adhesive resin and a deodorizing agent, in a single layer thereof.

WOUND CARE PRODUCT WITH INTEGRATED SENSOR TECHNOLOGY FOR DETERMINING WOUND DATA

The invention relates to a wound dressing in which sensor technology can be integrated for detecting wound data such as pH value, moisture and temperature as well as data relating to the condition of the wound dressing itself.
