BREATHALYZER AND SENSOR FOR DETECTING HALITOSIS AND GENERAL HEALTH ISSUES
A saliva sensing device for detecting oral health and/or overall health includes a chemically treated test strip biomarker targeted to identify bacteria in the saliva. A breathalyzer for detecting bacteria in the mouth of a user includes a housing, a sensor, and an analyzer. The sensor is coupled to the housing and extends outwardly therefrom for placing in the mouth of user and for collecting a saliva sample. The analyzer is for testing saliva that contacts the sensor.
Tamper-resistant chemical sampling
Methods, systems, and apparatuses are disclosed for a tamper-resistant collection and retention a chemical sample. In one embodiment, the tamper-resistant system comprises a container operable to collect and retain a chemical sample, a tamper-resistant mechanism operable to disengage at a first chemical sample to allow for a collection of a chemical sample, wherein the tamper-resistant mechanism is operable to record one or more of: a date, a time, and a location, of the chemical sample during the collection of the chemical sample, and wherein the tamper-resistant mechanism is further operable to re-engage and lock after the collection of the chemical sample to resist subsequent chemical samples after the first chemical sampling.
DEVICE FOR COLLECTING VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUNDS
The present invention relates to a sample collection device for collecting volatile organic compounds from the air, as well as to a method for characterizing the volatile organic compounds and to the use of this device for characterizing the odorant signature of an individual and allowing a dog to identify an individual from his/her odorant signature.
APPARATUS FOR PRECONCENTRATING AND TRANSFERRING ANALYTES FROM SURFACES AND MEASUREMENT THEREOF USING SPECTROSCOPY
An apparatus for capturing a target analyte in advance of performing spectroscopic analysis to determine the existence of the target analyte from a source contacted with a collection substrate. The collection substrate is fabricated of a material selected to have an affinity for the target analyte, sufficiently transparent in a spectral region of interest and capable of immobilizing the target analyte thereon in a manner that limits scattering sufficient to obscure spectral analysis. The collection substrate may be coated with a material selected to react with, bind to, or absorb the target analyte. The target analyte may be captured to the collection substrate by one or more of wiping, dabbing or swabbing a target analyte carrier with the collection substrate.
Cigarette smoke generating and sampling devices, systems, and its operating method for preparation of whole cigarette smoke condensate (WCSC)
The techniques disclosed in the present specification relate to devices, systems, and methods using the same that generate cigarette smoke and then separate and collect substances of the cigarette smoke generated into particulate and gaseous substances for the preparation of a whole cigarette smoke condensate, which may comprise: a cigarette mount on which one or more cigarettes are mounted; an automatic ignition device for igniting the one or more cigarettes; a cigarette smoke collection unit for collecting substances of cigarette smoke generated from the ignited one or more cigarettes; one or more cigarette smoke intake lines configured to suck the cigarette smoke; one or more cigarette smoke exhaust lines configured to discharge the cigarette smoke; and one or more collection unit connecting lines connected to the cigarette smoke collection unit.
GAS DETECTION SYSTEM
A gas detection system includes a first sensor unit that outputs a voltage corresponding to a concentration of a specific gas, a storage tank capable of storing a sample gas or a purge gas to be supplied to the first sensor unit, and a control unit. The control unit detects a type and a concentration of a gas contained in the sample gas on the basis of a detection result of the first sensor unit. The control unit sets a collection period during which a gas in a predetermined space is collected into the storage tank as the sample gas or the purge gas and a supply period during which the sample gas or the purge gas is supplied to the first sensor unit such that the collection period and the supply period fall in different time slots.
Fluid network for controlling at least one gaseous flow and system employing said network
A fluid network controls a gaseous flow, the fluid network having several pre-concentration units including at least one first series in which the pre-concentration units are linked in series and each defined by a rank j in the series, with j ranging from 1 to m and m being greater than or equal to 2. Each pre-concentration unit of the network includes a cavity filled with an adsorbent material, at least one first fluid pathway emerging in the cavity, at least one second fluid pathway emerging in the cavity. Finally, each pre-concentration unit includes a component for heating the cavity.
Shale gas extracting device and extracting method therefor
The present invention relates to a shale gas extracting device, and provides a shale gas extracting device comprising: a canister, which is vertically and rotatably provided on a canister support vertically provided on both sides of a base, has an receiving space for accommodating a drilled rock sample and a ball mill together in a sealed manner, and has an injection opening at one side of a top thereof; a driving means for vibrating the canister such that the rock sample is crushed by mixing with the ball mill accommodated in the canister; a heating means for heating the canister; and a vacuum pipe, a pressure pipe, a sensor pipe, an injection pipe and an extracting pipe sequentially and detachably coupled to the injection opening of the canister.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR COLLECTING PARTICLES AND GASEOUS CHEMICALS
A method for collecting particles or gaseous chemicals is provided. The method includes providing liquid to a tube of a droplet generator, heating, with a heater of the droplet generator, the tube to provide vapor to a gas flow channel inside the tube, passing a gas flow containing the particles or gaseous chemicals through the gas flow channel inside the tube to obtain droplets including the particles or gaseous chemicals, and passing the droplets including the particles or gaseous chemicals to a wall of a collecting device such that the droplets including the particles or gaseous chemicals hit the wall. The temperature inside the gas flow channel is higher than a temperature inside the collecting device.
Downhole hydrogen sulfide capture and measurement
Disclosed herein are methods and systems for capture and measurement of a target component. A fluid sampling tool for sampling fluid from a subterranean formation may include a sample chamber having a fluid inlet, wherein the sample chamber is lined with a coating of a material that can reversibly hold a target component.
