ANALYSIS DEVICE
An analysis device includes an analysis unit configured to receive scattered light, transmitted light, fluorescence, or electromagnetic waves from an observed object located in a light irradiation region light-irradiated from a light source and analyze the observed object on the basis of a signal extracted on the basis of a time axis of an electrical signal output from a light-receiving unit configured to convert the received light or electromagnetic waves into the electrical signal.
Particle control method
A particle control method configured prevent an extremely small quantity of particles descending on a stream of a laminar flow in a clean zone through which the laminar flow flows (as in a RABS or isolator device) from descending to a specific position or to guide the particles so as to have them descend to a specific position by controlling movement of the particles. [Solution] A particle descent position is separated away from a board surface of the oscillation board by using an acoustic radiation pressure generated by prompting ultrasonic vibration of the oscillation board disposed with a board surface substantially in parallel with a flow direction of the laminar flow. Moreover, by using a node of a standing wave field generated by prompting the ultrasonic vibration of two oscillation boards disposed with the board surfaces faced with each other, the particle is guided to a direction of a node of a standing wave field. Moreover, by using a focal point of the ultrasonic wave generated by prompting the ultrasonic wave of four oscillation boards, that is, two pairs disposed with the board surfaces faced with each other, the particle is guided to the focal point of the ultrasonic wave.

The present disclosure relates to compositions comprising a hydrogel particle with optical properties substantially similar to the optical properties of a target cell, and methods for their use.
Particle sorting in a microfluidic system
The invention relates to a method for ordering, sorting and/or focusing particles in a first microfluidic channel system, the method comprising the steps of i) providing for a first microfluidic channel comprising at least a first and a second inlet and a first outlet, ii) injecting a first fluid into the channel through said first inlet, iii) injecting a second fluid into the channel through said second inlet, wherein the viscosity of the first fluid is higher than the viscosity of the second fluid, such that the two fluids flow in a laminar fashion unmixed side by side, and one of the two fluids comprises the particles to be ordered, sorted and/or focused. The invention also relates to a microfluidic channel system for sorting different particles into one droplet.
MICROFLUIDIC METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR THE ISOLATION OF PARTICLES
A microfluidic method and system for the recovery of particles; while a sample is fed along a plurality of channels, some particles of a given type are trapped at the segments of the channels; keeping a fluid flow flowing along the channels further particles of different type are moved away and unloaded through an outlet; at this point, a movement device, for example provided with a dielectrophoresis system, directly exerts a force on each particle of given type and selectively conveys it to a collection area.
SYSTEMS, ARTICLES, AND METHODS FOR FLOWING PARTICLES
Systems and methods for flowing particles, such as biological entities, in a fluidic channel(s) are generally provided. In some cases, the systems described herein are designed such that a single particle may be isolated from a plurality of particles and flowed into a fluidic channel (e.g., a microfluidic channel) and/or collected e.g., on fluidically isolated surfaces. For example, the single particle may be present in a plurality of particles of relatively high density and the single particle is flowed into a fluidic channel, such that it is separated from the plurality of particles. The particles may be spaced within a fluidic channel so that individual particles may be measured/observed over time. In certain embodiments, the particle may be a biological entity. Such article and methods may be useful, for example, for isolating single cells into individual wells of multi-well cell culture dishes (e.g., for single-cell analysis).
