DRESSING OF TONGUE AND LIP TIES AFTER SURGICAL RELEASE AND CREATION OF ADDITIONAL ATTACHED (KERATINIZED) GINGIVAL TISSUE AROUND TEETH
20240415702 · 2024-12-19 · ·

Soft tissue in the mouth (or other body cavity) is surgically released by an incision to free up the tension of the tissue. To prevent premature reattachment of the tissue after separation, a wound dressing is applied to the surgical site followed by application of a substance, malleable during application, that provides a dressing fixture over the wound dressing in an area of the surgical site that is to remain separated. The substance adheres to the area of application and at least partially hardens within a short period of time, then remains in place while the surgical site heals. The dressing fixture may be cyanoacrylate.

A method of treating microbial infections that entails producing a space over the infected site by covering such site with an impermeable material and then filling such space with an antimicrobial material (in the form of a solution, cream, gel, colloid, etc) comprising an efflux pump inhibitor soluble in a non-polar solvent is provided. The antimicrobial material can also be applied in multiple other ways such as a cream or released from a band-aid or gauze. Such treatment method may also be used with newly discovered antibiotics.

Very absorbent, thin adhesive dressing, and uses thereof for the treatment of chronic wounds

The invention relates to an absorbent dressing comprising an adhesive silicone-coated side strip, which is particularly suitable for use in the care of chronic wounds, such as ulcers or eschars, or acute wounds, such as burns. The absorbent dressing includes a breathable impermeable substrate (4) and an absorbent non-woven fabric (6). The substrate is formed by assembling a continuous film (4a) and an openwork reinforcement that is coated with an adhesive silicone gel (4b) without blocking the openings in the reinforcement. A non-absorbent web (5) is secured to a complementary non-woven fabric (7), such as to encase the above-mentioned absorbent non-woven fabric (6) without being secured at any point to the latter. The encased absorbent non-woven fabric is subsequently assembled to the substrate (4) along part of said silicone-coated surface of the substrate.

Wound closure devices, kits, and related methods

Wound closure devices and related methods. In one example, a wound closure device includes a release liner and several wound closure meshes held in a removable fashion to the release liner. The release liner includes a main body and several tabs, with the tabs secured in a detachable fashion to the main body. Each wound closure mesh is held in a removable fashion to the main body of the release liner and at least one of the tabs, with the tab including a portion that extends outwardly from an outer perimeter of the mesh to which it is held.
