Devices and methods for detecting an explosive substance
A wipe for detecting the presence of an explosive substance is composed of an absorbent or adsorbent substrate and a chemical detection solution impregnated within the substrate. In one embodiment the chemical detection solution includes a combination of reagents operable, when contacted with a particular explosive substance to undergo a chemical reaction or a series of chemical reactions to produce a compound having a visible color. In another embodiment, the chemical detection solution includes a redox color indicating agent that is operable to exhibit a color change upon reacting with the explosive substance.
Method of Testing the Color Quality of a Colored Gemstone
A method of testing the color quality of a colored gemstone is disclosed, taking the gem color as an entirety visually composed of different color components, whose total amount of color components is constant, so as to calculate hue-purity, color-strength and relative chromaticity of the gem color to test the color quality. The method comprises the following steps: (1) determining blackness, chromaticness and hue of the gem color; (2) calculating the hue-purity, color-strength and relative chromaticity in accordance with the blackness, chromaticness and hue; (3) finding a matching color in a pre-established standard color library for this specific gemstone according to the hue-purity, color-strength and relative chromaticity calculated in step (2), and use the name of the matching color to indicate the gem color and color quality.
Medical device or system for measuring hemoglobin levels during accidents using a camera-projector system
A medical system (10) and method measures hemoglobin level of a subject (38). A hemoglobin color scale (HbCS) (22) is projected into afield of view (FOV) (42) of an imaging system (12). The HbCS (22) includes a plurality of blood color regions (26a-f), each blood color region (26a-f) corresponding to a hemoglobin level and colored to represent the color of blood at the corresponding hemoglobin level. An image of blood of the subject (38), and the projected HbCS, is acquired using the imaging system (12).
TEST KIT INCLUDING CASE AND PARTITIONED COLLECTOR
A test kit is provided. The test kit includes a case including a plurality of reagent containers storing reagents, each reagent indicating the presence of a substance when the reagent comes into contact with that substance. The test kit further includes a collector including a collector body, and a plurality of swabs coupled to the collector body and configured to collect substances. The test kit is configured to test for a plurality of collected substances by causing the reagents stored in the plurality of reagent containers to contact at least one of the plurality of swabs, and the test kit is further configured to display results of the test.

System and Method for Qualitative and Quantitative Detection of Substance on Surfaces
A surface wipe for the detection of harmful substances on surfaces by producing uniform color change and a color comparator to determine the concentration of harmful substance collected on the wipe by comparing the intensity and hue of the uniform color on the wipe to a calibrated color scale related to specific concentration of the target harmful substance. In operation, the wipe is held from the handle to swipe a suspect surface. The pressure applied by fingers at certain areas on the rigid or flexible top support member of the wipe during the swiping process is transferred to the flexible wipe body. The flexible body of the wipe uniformly distribute the pressure applied by fingers throughout its mass and/or take the shape of irregular and uneven surface allowing the collection and color forming assembly to produce uniform color change that can be quantified by the color comparator.
Test strip, system and method of inspection
The invention provides a test strip comprising an identification region coded a screen function of the test strip by a chromaticity coordinates model; a calibration region having a particular color for calibrating an external spectrum analyzer; and a reaction region chemically reacted with a specific specimen for changing its own color. By using the external spectrum analyzer to conduct light splitting of the reflective lights from the recognition and reaction regions of the test strip, automatic recognition and simplified usage can be achieved.
Visual indication test kit
A test kit is provided. The test kit includes a case including a top including a plurality of indicator pads and a crushing plate rotatable between a first position and a second position, the crushing plate including a plurality of crushing ribs. The case further includes a bottom hingedly coupled to the top, the bottom including a plurality of reagent ampoules storing reagents. When the case is closed with the crushing plate in the second position, the plurality of crushing ribs crush the the plurality of reagent ampoules. The test kit further includes a collector including a collector body, a plurality of swabs extending through the collector body, a removable cover covering a first side of the collector body, and a collector handle coupled to the collector body, wherein the collector is nestable within the case.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ANALYTE MEASUREMENT
