Among other things, this application describes systems and methods for detecting gas using a wide band light source, and at least two narrow band light sensors, wherein each sensor may be operable to detect light at a different range of wavelengths. Additionally, the gas detector device may comprise a color changing indicator operable to react with gas in the air to change color, wherein different gases may react to create different colors, and wherein the sensors detect light reflected by the color changing indicator from the wide band light source. The gas detector device may comprise a processor in communication with the at least two light sensors operable to receive detected reflected wavelength information from the light sensors, and determine the type of gas that reacted with the color changing indicator based on the color detected by the sensors, wherein each color may be associated with a different type of gas.

The chemical indicator strip can be used in a method of detecting a threshold level of disinfectant. The method can include exposing a chemical indicator strip to a concentration of disinfectant for a preset amount of time. The method can include providing a visual indicator to a user that changes from a first color to a second color. The method can indicate that the chemical indicator strip has been exposed to a threshold concentration of disinfectant for a threshold amount of time when a complete color change occurs on the chemical indicator strip from the first color to the second color.

Systems and methods to analyzes images of lateral flow assays are disclosed herein. An example image analysis system includes processor circuitry to (a) determine whether a format of an image of a lateral flow assay device satisfies a format threshold, (b) in response to determining the format of the image satisfies the format threshold, determine whether the lateral flow assay device in the image is authentic, (c) in response to determining the lateral flow assay device is authentic, determine whether a position of the lateral flow assay device in the image satisfies a position threshold, (d) in response to determining the position of the lateral flow assay device satisfies the position threshold, analyze the image to determine the result of the diagnostic test, and (e) abort the sequence of the operations during performance of the sequence of operations at the time any one of operations fails.

ANALYSIS OF URINE TEST STRIPS WITH MOBILE CAMERA ANALYSYS AND PROVIDING RECOMMENDATION BY CUSTOMISING DATA

A method for conducting a urinalysis is provided. The method includes receiving an image of a urine strip having a plurality of reacting areas configured to react with a predetermined urine parameter, and a plurality of reference regions each having a designated color; extracting, from each reference region, reference values representative of a detected color in the reference region; extracting, from each reacting area, color values representative of a detected color of the reacting area; conducting a regression analysis by determining least-squares of the reference values in accordance with prestored set of values corresponding to expected colors of each reference region; determining a color correction model by calculating root polynomial expansion of the least-squares; applying the color correction model on the color values by calculating root polynomial expansion of the color values to obtain normalized values; and determine level of the urine parameters in accordance with normalized values.

A method to process an image to determine a biological property associated with a test strip (221, 313, 323, 333, 413, 423, 513, 523) in a test strip adaptor (120, 220, 620, 720). The method includes receiving the image captured by a mobile computing device (100, 600, 700) and determining whether the received image includes sensitive information. In response to determining that the image includes sensitive information, the method further includes overwriting the image with a later received image before the image can be saved as a file. In response to determining that the image does not include sensitive information, the method further includes identifying a characteristic configuration associated with the test strip (221, 313, 323, 333, 413, 423, 513, 523) and determining the biological property based on the image and the characteristic configuration.

A cartridge-based biofluid monitoring system and method of using same are disclosed. The biofluid monitoring system uses a biofluid cartridge configured to be removably inserted into a biofluid cartridge housing. The biofluid cartridge housing can be rotated so that multiple types of analysis can be conducted on one biofluid collection. The biofluid monitoring system may be used at a user's home or at other locations that allow for real-time biofluid monitoring to occur. The biofluid monitoring system allows for point-of-care detection and monitoring of a multitude of clinically relevant biological markers of current or changing health and disease states, by analyzing the user's biofluid.
