Custom optical reference calibrator fabrication system
Systems and methods for producing a calibration standard for an optical analysis system (e.g., a diagnostic reader) from a live test sample are disclosed. The calibration standard may include an image reproduced on a substrate. The reproduced image may be a replication of a digital image of a live test sample captured using the optical analysis system and then digitally processed to be reproduced on the substrate. The image reproduced on the substrate may include at least one optical feature digitally added to the replication of the digital image of the live test sample. The added optical features may be used to allow for more robust calibration using the calibration standard.
Apparatus for Assay Strip(s) with Specimen Loading to Multiple Zones and Related Methods
A lateral flow assay device that is defined by multiple loading zones, wherein a sample pad is located before and upstream from a conjugate pad and another sample pad is located after and downstream from the conjugate pad. This configuration allows for increased sensitivity for detecting an analyte in a specimen. The device may employ multiple collection pads or a single collection pad and the collection pads may be engaged with the sample pads in several manners, including but not limited to, pressing down on a cassette with collection pads onto a cassette with the test strips, or by sliding the collection pads along the cassette with the test strips and sample pads.
TEST STRIPS FOR DETERMINING THE CONCENTRATION OF A COMPONENT IN A LIQUID COMPOSITION
A test strip for determining the concentration of a component in a liquid composition is disclosed. The test strip comprises a carrier sheet coated with a layer of an adsorbent, and a chemical dye deposited on the test strip near but spaced apart from a bottom edge of the test strip. In some embodiments, the test strip is a thin-layer chromatography (TLC) plate, and the retention factor of the chemical dye varies according to the concentration of the component in the liquid composition. A user can determine the concentration of the component based on the migration distance of the chemical dye on the test strip in a chromatography process. The test strip can be used to perform a fast and visual test to determine the ethanol content in a fuel sample.
Rapid analysis for cyanobacterial toxins
Method and compositions using transition metal salts and/or ammonium chloride to liberate toxins and other molecules from cyanobacteria, useful for assaying for total cyanobacterial toxins in lakes, reservoirs and other waters.
MOBILE DEVICE BASED MULTI-ANALYTE TESTING ANALYZER FOR USE IN MEDICAL DIAGNOSTIC MONITORING AND SCREENING
A mobile device based multi-analyte testing analyzer for use in medical diagnostic monitoring and screening, and a method of manufacturing the same are disclosed. A reflectance based, colorimetric test strip reader for use with a mobile device having a jack plug receiving socket, said test strip reader adapted for removably receiving a test strip having a test strip longitudinal axis, comprising a housing; a jack plug operably coupled to and extending from said housing and adapted for operable coupling with said jack plug receiving socket; a test strip adapter including structure defining a test strip receiving channel; a light source oriented within said housing for directing light toward said test strip receiving channel to illuminate a test strip arranged within said test strip adapter; and a light sensor oriented within said housing to sense light reflected from a test strip carried by said test strip receiving channel.
MEANS AND METHOD FOR POINT-OF-CARE ANALYSIS OF LIQUID SAMPLES
A sensor for the rapid, onsite identification of analytes characterized by: (a) a sample layer; (b) at least one reaction layer, interconnected with the sample layer; (c) at least one reporter layer, interconnected with the reaction payer; (d) at least one preventative layer, interconnected with the reporter layer; and (e) an absorption pad, interconnected with the preventative layer; with the layers arranged as a signaling channel.
Urine test device
A urine test device includes a case in which a guide is formed, a strip tray including a strip moving body formed to be slidably movable through the guide, a plurality of strip seating parts formed on the strip moving body, and a strip fixing part configured to fix the strip seated on each of the plurality of strip seating parts, a tray movement driving part configured to slidably move the strip tray, a sensing module supported by the case and including a plurality of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) configured to emit white light for testing toward the plurality of moving strips from above the plurality of strips and a plurality of image sensors configured to detect colors of the plurality of strips, and a control part configured to control the tray movement driving part to move the strip tray.
Colorimetric test system designed to control flow of simultaneously released chemicals to a target area
In some embodiments, the present disclosure pertains to a colorimetric system for detecting a substance, the colorimetric system that includes a first chemical container adapted for releasing a first chemical; a second chemical container adapted for releasing a second chemical; a flow modulation sheet adjacent each chemical container; and an encapsulation covering the flow modulation sheet and each chemical container, where the encapsulation comprises a window defining a target area of the filter paper such that the target area is adapted for applying the substance; where the flow modulation sheet comprises a design adapted for automatically controlling a first flow of the first chemical and a second flow of the second chemical to the target area.
Point-of-care Sample Analysis and Microscopy for Liquid Samples
Improved colorimetric analysis of liquid samples is provided. A sample holder is used that delivers predetermined volumes of sample individually to each of several colorimetric test patches at the same time with a sliding action. An opaque housing is employed to prevent ambient light from reaching the test patches when color images of the test patches are acquired. Preferably, a mobile electronic device including a camera is attached to the opaque housing to acquire the images. Optical microscopy can be performed in addition to the colorimetric analysis.
